After Sheff Wed got beat by Exeter it suddenly became apparent that Sheff Wed had called off all of their home fixtures over Christmas / New Year due to burst pipes.

I believe that this was a move initiated by Mandaric to ensure they didnt drop anymore points before he could strengthen the side during the January window. To me this is most obvious do they not have plumbers in Yorkshire that could have repaired them during this period.

It only holds water (unlike the pipes) if SW do run out with a revamped side on the 3rd v 'uddersfield.

I did wonder why Sheff Weds didn't have any fixtures over Christmas. I guess they're waiting until the plumbers are no longer on double time!

The ground was closed as there were no working toilet facilities in any of the stands (due to the burst pipes). Ridiculous theory.

It is a little bizarre isn't it. But it's up North, they're probably all still in bed

Could they not have repaired them. Would you have waited 7 - 10 days to repair yours if it happened. Will be interesting to see if they do bring players in immediately the window opens. What we must remember is that Mandaric is a devious character so much so that he is waiting to go to court on tax evasion charges so is not against playing the system and rules to suit himself.

No, but then I only have two, rather than hundreds, and mine are in a warm house, rather than a frozen football stadium.

I am not a plumber but would have thought that they could have replaced the burst pipes, run water through to check then turned it off and drained the pipes so they couldnt freeze up again then just turned the water on prior to the game.

Supply pipe freezing, airlocks on refilling empty pipes, whole manner of problems could happen.

The problem with this theory is that their home form is very good.
