Why the hell did Gus let Kuipers go?

Of course,Michel wasn't perfect and he has gone so we are where we are.Human nature however, dictates that when our goalies balls up and the balls up costs us points, the subject of Michel will come up, until Brez and /or Casper are firmly established as acceptable replacements for FDM...That may take a bit of time.I think the situation has been made rather more emotive than it should be because we have also signed Poke, who let's be honest doesn't appear up to it yet.
Personally,I would have liked to have seen us sign Owain Fon Williams, who is still at Stockport.Failing that though,I would have been more than happy to keep Michel for another year!

not so much human nature as just plain stupidity, when casper makes a save that stops a goal will the same people be on here praising him to the hilt and claiming what an inspired signing, christ i love bha to death but our fans are just so fickle and unforgiving its untrue, its a wonder we can get anyone to play for us considering the moans and lack of support to our players and i don't just mean on here, but some of the comments heard shouted at games beggar belief, Gus is trying to mould a team and certain style of play but its not good enough or quick enough for the lump it forward fan so i guess better to shout insults .

Human nature or stupidity, call it what you will.Football fans as a breed are not known for their patience.Over reaction to either good or bad news is the norm..always has been always will be.I think because we have rather higher expectations this season than of late, any disappointments will manifest themselves perhaps more vigorously than we have been used to.

Nor are they well known for their grasp of PUNCTUATION.

Hans,I note your remark re punctuation.
On this occasion,my reply to Humpy was set out in note form rather than flowing prose.Sorry to offend you,if I did.
Be assured,I am usually capable of posting decipherable ramblings with a minimum of grammatical errors;however, I am comforted by the thought that should I fall from the highest standards, you will be there to kick my ass!

Yes, I know he was sent off yesterday, but at least he is Mr Reliable when it comes to shop stopping and rarely in all his years with the Albion made the kind of schoolboy error Casper made yesterday.

So we have:
Casper ... a number of dodgy moments on saturday and then one enormous f***ing error.
Poke ... a couple of eeror strewn performances in pre-season and versus Northampton.
Walker ... Gus clearly doesn't feel he's ready yet.
Brezovan ... maybe the best we have, but I wasn't particularly impressed last season.

So more goalies than we've ever had and not a decent one among them.

Kuipers should definitely have been given another year.

Kuipers has made plenty of errors in his time with the Albion especially in his early days. It may surprise you but when you come in and play two games with a defence that you have never played with before you may not have the best communication. Poke looks a mistake sadly but Ankergren will be fine when he has played with the defence for a couple of games. Some people seem to think that Kuipers was the same keeper when he left as he was in his prime and that is clearly not true.

As for Brezovan, he was great in his second spell in the team at the end of last season. He made the odd mistake, like the Carlisle one, but generally he was a lot more solid than Kuipers last season and I was more confident with him in goal. However, he definitely improved as he played more games with the defence (and that included a run of 6 games where only 1 goal was conceded).

When Brezovan is fit, we will have two very good keepers competing for the number one shirt and another talented youngster coming through. I would far rather have that than Kuipers back any day. I thought that the boring Kuipers obsession of some people on here would go away when he left but clearly every time Ankergren or Brezovan make a mistake we are going to hark back to him every time. I honestly don't understand why you don't support the keepers we have rather than moaning about decisions that have already been made.

Right here, right now
in other words a mistake and Grimsby scored. Not to mention he got red carded too, so misses another game and the back up keeper has to play

Exactly the same as Casper, no?
Ankergren is not banned for the next game is he? So no, not exactly the same.

Ankergren and Brezovan will be solid goalkeepers for us. Kuipers has gone and will not play for us again.

Lets get behind the team not jump on every mistake and keep bringing it up when it serves as a stick to beat whichever player with.
