Didn't go to MKD but went on Saturday, it was superb entertainment imo, some brilliant stuff played. MY OH said it was easily the best game she's been to, granted she's only been to about 10, but she was very impressed

I´m a ST holder and am bringing my wife to the Charlton game. Managed to get a seat next to mine - 42 quid. Ouch!

MKD was not as attractive as a lunch at the golf club after getting soaking wet in the morning. No- one took my ticket as I left it late...Birmingham I was in Edingburgh visiting my youngest and I offered by ticket to laura, but she didn't want the hassle of getting these etc which is well documented so she didn't go.

I think if we were not to go up next year, and I did chuck in the st, I would probably give up going entirely. I haven't really enjoyed it for a few years now and found other things that I prefer. Certainly when we were at withdean, I sat with loads of mates and it was a real social gathering and good fun. As we went to falmer, people ended up all over the ground and having my brother in law not renew and losing tony who sat next to me last year, although I have great mates sat behind, it is not the same. It's a shame but there you are.

I was fortunate that a group of us (69 in fact) who know each other (to varying degrees across the group) bought out Amex season tickets together in a block, so there are lot of people I know near me, plus of course there's the pre match atmosphere and chance to chat on the concourse pre-match, as well as drinks in the BoT before any of that.

The Amex experience (for me) is very social.

If you've not been to many games this season, and your only recollection is from LAST season, I'm not surprised you've lost your mojo. Last season was dull and thoroughly depressing, especially at home.

I agree that the match by match prices are way too steep and the empty seats would fill-up for £25 a pop. But with the £10m losses announced for last season we obviously can't even cover our costs with the prices we currently charge. The only hope is promotion and increased TV and commercial revenue, but to survive in the Prem you need to buy players on higher wages and so the costs/revenue spiral continues. Running a football club must be a flippin' nightmare.

There are several things at play here but it can be summarised into two key points:

1) the match day ticket is too high
2) we have a very high season ticket holder number, of which a good proportion of people don't go to every game but allow others who might otherwise have paid for a match ticket go "free".

This second point can't be underestimated. I know kids of season ticket holders who share their seats either half and half or regularly let someone else have it, six or seven times in a season is all some people want.

I am a Season ticket holder, If I didnt have a season ticket I would no longer go to games, I would not be happy to pay the match day prices, I would simply wait until a ticket was offered to me.

Anyone who cant afford £40-50 for a season ticket for the month, is just as unlikely to be able to afford a one off ticket prove of £42 for that month. £42 is simpley far too steep. In a way I wuld be intrested to see how much people would pay, if the Albion did a pay what you feel is reasonable.

For me if I didn't have a season ticket, I wouldnt want to pay anymore than £25 per game + booking fee.

To be honest mate I have only missed three. It is a shame so many of us got seats all over the place. Half time at withdean used to be a general meet up eat chips etc in the group by the entrance to the south stand...and of course there was the group of us who would meet on the London train have beers in hove and make our way over ...now a days, I get there at 5 to three, watch the footy and leave on the whistle...I actually miss tony Langridge more than I like to admit I think.

Missing departed friends is understandable. It takes time, especially as you will associate him with the footy.

Where do the rest of your mates from Withdean sit now? Could you try and move nearer / with them?

Derby have £10 tickets regularly and charge £20 for most matches...Loads of clubs are far cheaper than us if not all.
The popular tickets and seats will be the £40 ones....shocking prices and well done to the ones who refuse to pay these hideous prices.Charlton cat A laughable

Do you not know the answer or is this yet more of your tiresome campaign to try and undermine the club?

We, as a whole club, made a commitment to have a sustainable transport policy to support the location of what we now know as the Amex. Plenty of in-towners benefit from this with the train from, and back to, Brighton and/or make use of free bus transport from town to 'out of town' too. Others may use the park and ride facilities even if they don't actually park.

Managed to get myself from haywards heath to the goldstone when i was a teenager without free transport. If the club can get out of the travel subsidy i'm sure they will.

I think that's where Dick's Bar and staying in the concourse bars after matches comes in. I'm in East Upper and I reckon there's hardly anyone in there from the Withdean years because it was opened a year later than the rest of the ground, and most Withdean regulars had already been accommodated. But if I go to Dick's before or after matches I always bump into familiar faces.

Personally I think £42 is too much. £30 is too much. £25 is a treat but not every other weekend. STHs should be able to bring a friend at a discounted price.
