Why Sidwell instead of Kayal?

Not blaming Sidwell at all! Just saying that Stephens and Kayal is out best midfield pairing, particularly at home. Sidders is a much more defensive player and likes passing the ball sideways a lot. We needed someone to drive us forward and provide that creative nouse.

Kayal..not quite in form and a question mark against his fitness..Sidwell in form, match fit and certainly didn't spend his night passing sideways imho
If you are going to question someones place then reluctantly I would suggest Stephens who's performance was bit of a curates egg

Of the four across midfield, Sidwell was comfortably our best player tonight. He was immense against Burton too. Knockaert had another poor game, and got too much wrong, starting with that weak, poorly directed effort in the first half. Stephens didn't just get caught in possession, he made a number of misplaced passes. Those two were the primary culprits behind our slow start and poor display tonight.

Is the correct summary of last night's game.

Games like this are made for Norwood to come on and pick a pass which creates something against a packed opposition defence.
It's the one thing he can really do.

thinking the same, we did not have either of the dead ball specialists playing and AK is not as controlled at taking them.

Kayal needs to regain form and fitness before displacing Sidwell. Comparing Kayal when lacking either (because
of the injury) with his form last season isn't realistic for the team. We can't wish him into that form.
