at the moment fear is what is stopping the very few witnesses from coming forward but don't think its over case unsolved because it not.

Like it's impossible to anonymously tip-off the rozzers. An 11 year old boy died for God sake. How difficult is it to set up an email address and email the information to the police?

Not defending those witholding information at all, because coming forward in this case would be worth a life-changing decision, but surely theres more to it than that? Surely you have to then back this up with statements/testemonies? I wouldn't have thought that an anonymous email is sufficient evidence for a prosecution.

Ah fair enough. I was under the impression that it was one of those deals where the police blatantly know (or have a very short list of) who did it, but can't produce any evidence to incriminate them.

Also...a disproportionate number of trannies and drag acts seem to be scousers. Perhaps we have better transgender/cross-dressing themed pubs and clubs?

Oh come on, most people reckon everyone from Brighton is gay.

As soon as I mention that I was originally from Brighton they're like ooooh

Just generalisation.
Things could be a lot worse like being a northern twat.

It wouldn't be enough evidence.

I like Scousers. The ones I met in the forces were great.

Sefton's in Liverpool isn't it? Not being pedantic, just wondering whether I've got it wrong or not

Strictly speaking Sefton is not part of Liverpool. The Wirral is even less 'Scouse' whatever that is. Of course as a major city its influence spreads to other nearby authorities. However many places in Sefton such as Bootle and Kirkby are pretty much quintessentially Liverpool places equal to Anfield, Croxteth and Toxteth.

I lived in Liverpool for 14 years and much of what I saw infuriated and disgusted me. There is such a high level of petty crime, I was pretty shocked after growing up in quiet Seaford. As far as the Rhys murder goes, as someone said, fear and intimidation and probably a lack of hard evidence prohibited the Police from acting sooner. The vast majority of scousers are dare I say it just like you and me, law abiding, wanting a decent life for their families and friends and are just as disgusted by what occurs in their city as the rest of us. I believe the city has received worse press than it deserves over the years due to historic reasons, i.e. the huge Irish influence there and the fact that it is the only English city with a Roman Catholic majority. Liverpool is a fantastic city (for those who like cities, I prefer the Sussex countryside anyday) which is re-inventing itself fairly successfully and it is a shame that prejudices still exist that besmirch it.

They had arrested the bloke they knew had done it within a week I believe. An annonymous email wont be enough to prosecute.

I can't help but think that if it can't be that difficult to get the address of a Liverpool player if one of their payslips was leaked onto the internet and you have a good idea when they are not at home.

Saying that, one would think you average Premiership footballers new build is more secure than most of our homes.

Like the Joke says:

A new teacher takes up a job in a Liverpool Comprehensive, and on her first day she decides to ingratiate herself with the class so she says "Hands up all of you who support Liverpool", pretty much the entire class puts up their hands except one kid

So she says, "well who do you support then?"

"Man Utd" says the kid.

"Are you from Manchester then" she asks

"No miss Born and bred in Liverpool"

"Well how come you are a United supporter then"

"My Mum is from Old Trafford, and my Dad is a manc as well, and both support the Red Devils"

"So what", says the shocked teacher, "you are a Liverpudlian, practically born on the Pier Head, you should support your local side, after all you need to be your own man no matter what your parents are, what if your Mum was a Prostitute and your dad was a drug addict, what would that make you?"

"A Liverpool Supporter Miss?"
