Because god FORBID anyone challenges the Established Order of the Elite, and (gulp) ends up breaking into the Champions League. Lets just keep Bayern winning the League ever. bloody. year, and never have anyone able to ever step up.

Infantino will have an aneurysm if Wolves/Sheff Utd make next seasons Champions League.

Bayern ... forever buying a domestic trophies monopoly, with PSG and Celtic.

The virtuous German ownership model appears to favour Bayern.

Indeed. See also Juve. Its why nobody outside of Germany/Italy is interested in the Bundesliga or Serie A. Utterly stale "competitions", marmalised by the same team year in, year out.

Yup. Well.. at least I get the pleasure of watching Mourinho lose. Wonder who or what he will blame.

Delightful whenever the camera turns on to Mourinho, complete with scowl.
He's not only lost it tactically, if anyone felt his man-management skills weren't atrocious, the current phase provides yet more conclusive evidence

Bayer own more than 51% of Leverkusen (100%), VW own more than 51% of Wolfsburg (100%), both have won the Bundesliga, and both have had significant success by being owned by huge corporations.

And selling poison to kids? Really? It passes food standards, they also sell it to adults, and it isn’t poisonous. Get over yourself.

Yes and they are a bit more accepted because of tradition and the logical connection between the owners and the team.

Yes, Red Bull is poison. My piss would also pass standards if I had the money and a lobby army to corrupt scienticts, politicans and policy makers. Hell if that was the case, I could make burgers from McDonalds pass food standars.

Well to reverse what you eagerly tell me about my knowledge of English football culture: you dont know shit about football culture outside UK.

Most fans of all clubs would never accept some sheik buying it even if it was 100% that it would result in a league win. Never. Being the Champions League toy of some transnational company or rich Qatarian/Saudi doesnt stand a chance against knowing you, the fans, own the club. Are the club.

Yes, teams in England and Italy are owned by random rich foreigners and teams in Germany and Sweden (and to some extent in Spain/Portugal) are owned by the fans. Neither is objectively better or worse, but Germans/Swedes are certainly not jealous and love the 51% rule.

If you love RB Leipzig, do it - hell even import it, but dont open that cakehole if "Brighton & Hove Albion FC" one day turn in to "Ronald McDonald's Brighton".

As for Bundesliga, 5 teams have won it the last 20 years compared to the exact same number winning the PL.

Going to be difficult again for JM next year, with no CL money to spend:

OGS (I’m surprised) is now doing well, and will spend another £200m and get rid of the duds. The £200m will be spent on players Spuds would love to have.

Mansour/Guardiola will belligerently up their game as sticking 2 fingers to UEFA, I think the ban will be reduced to one season and they’ll sign true quality this summer.

With Chelsea’s ban over, Abram will back Lampard in the transfer market.

Other than at Porto 16 years ago, Mourinho is used to having an incredibly expensive squad, or at least one full of top internationals.

Hard to argue with any of that, imo

I haven't 'eagerly told you' anything about your knowledge of english football culture. Didn't even mention it.

Bayern have won the Bundesliga the last 7 YEARS in a row, and are now on course for an 8th. The last thing they want is a new (rich) kid on the block threatening their total dominance. There is an inherent snobbery towards a success story like RB, making waves and playing out to a splendid packed 43k stadium. The establishment would obviously prefer they stayed in the backwaters and minded their own business, but they've broken no rules (to my knowledge), so good luck to them. The 51 isn't the ONLY way to run a football club. The other clubs should step up to the challenge instead of bleating about ownership. Money/investment/ownership is only part of the equation, it guarantees nothing.

As for BHA, we've followed a different path, are fortunate to be owned by a billionaire fan, and long may that continue. I'm not going to thumb my nose at RB Leipzig for doing it differently though. They have as much right to success in the Bundesliga and Europe as anyone else, despite the efforts to strangle their progress.

I'm somewhat surprised by OGS too. If he manages to get CL football for next season, it's not just the money that he'll get, but the club will begin to become a magnet for the best young players too. He gives youngsters a chance, which is probably why Bellingham's family are talking to United. I can think of another manager that doesn't give youth a chance though.

How does a tradition start then? Bayer and VW have put millions into their respective football clubs over many years.

Red Bull is not poison, I drink it, I am not dead, or in any way Ill from it.

Chelsea fans, City fans, Liverpool fans, Bournemouth fans, plenty of fans have loved it when some rich Arab/American/Russian/Entire Country have taken them over and enabled them to succeed beyond their previous dreams.

15 of the last 20 Bundesliga were won by Bayern Munich, no English club comes close.

Some of what I have written is based on facts. Some is possibly opinion, none are wrong. No doubt your opinion is different, and you’ll voice it, because that is all you do, and perhaps you’ll even have a different way of interpreting facts.

Why are you being so angry and argumentative, or is that the only reason you come here?

With "the establishment" I guess you mean like 90% of all German football fans?

You say its elitist, but as I see it, Red Bull are the "elite" and the 500 blue collar guys going to some Freiburg annual meeting to decide on things are the people.

As for "bleating about ownership", why dont you come and tell us in Sweden and Germany what to do... when you have 92 teams in your 92 team pyramid, when you have all the clubs going through a season paying monthly wages, when you dont have scammers selling your club or your ground leaving you in a different city or without a home arena.

Sort that out and then come tell us of your superior ownership model.

I thought this article gave a really good insight into the way the Bundesliga works and into German football culture in general

https://www.espn.com/soccer/german-bundesliga/story/4029702/why-rb-leipzig-is-the-most-hated-soccer-team-in-the-bundesliga

Not really you should read up on how the eastern german football teams have been pillaged by buying their best players at stupidly low prices and destroyed by the western league teams good amazon documentary on this starring uwe rosler and stephan freund. Some top eastern teams are languising in the lower german leagues because they had no idea how to cope when the wall came down. RB has invested in eastern teams to revive them and Bayern is the most shit worthy hated team this article just empowers to crush down a revival in eastern german football who red bull are the only ones that give a shit about. Just compare how many eastern teams are in the top league compared to the western.

Yes, and I smoke and drink a lot and am healthy. Still poison though.

Yea, Pool, City, Chelsea fans etc seem to dig it, at least the ones that can afford the new regimes. But its significantly different: clubs were sold from rich Brits to rich foreigners. In Germany or Sweden a takeover would be transfer from the people to the rich foreigner.

Its not really about the nationality of the owner, its about preserving the culture of supporter democracy. You can say its silly but you've never had it and have no clue how it important it is to fans in these countries.

I am indeed "argumentative", this is a huge and sensitive issue here in Sweden and in Germany.

Why? Simple: we dont want your ****ing ultracapitalist neo-liberal ownership values.

If you want it, its fine. But why are you guys so insistant on us following your model? What are the advantage? Dont say "to win titles", because its not what football is about. Not here at least. Just like your wifes possibility of winning Miss Universe isnt the reason you love her.

Why the emphasis in your post on your model, capitalism, etc, etc?

Did Leipzig, Hoffenheim and Hammarby reference those dastardly English clubs as their role model? You can’t really blame that or capitalism in football on us can you.

There’s something rotten where season after season after season, Bayern Munich are arrogantly able to pick off the best players at Bundesliga rivals, and hey presto come each May, see off those rivals to ‘glorious’ success with a never-ending monopoly on the title.

They’re no better than PSG, Celtic and Juve.

Look into how western german clubs destroyed the eastern ones after the wall came down and how many eastern clubs were allowed in the top division when they merged. Bayern just basically buys players from any competition and you cannot compare their record with the premier league. Red bull are supporting east german football and are challenging the shit stain that is Bayern and you call them poison...really

Good Reddit post about Leipzig:

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/f8a2vc/rb_leipzig_a_guide_for_the_uninformed_who_are/

First paragraph is perfectly reproduced in this thread:

"Rasenballsport Leipzig, translated as “Lawn Ball Sport Leipzig” and commonly referred to as RB Leipzig, is a team that many people seem to not know enough about. In any given thread on this subreddit referring to them, there will always be a substantial amount of comments that fundamentally misunderstand why many Germans and other Bundesliga fans have such a strong hatred for them. Examples of these may include:

“Bayern supporters are just upset that they aren’t guaranteed the title every year”

“If you hate RB Leipzig then why don’t you hate Bayer Leverkusen/VfL Wolfsburg”

“Corporate money is a part of football, crying about it is pointless”

These are just a few of the sentiments that are parroted constantly here, often but not exclusively coming from UCL-tier super club fans from England and Spain. While some are just very eager to defend corporations in football, many are just confused at how exactly German football works."

Yet Leipzig hasnt won a single title and are being villified by the western football league after what they did to the eastern football clubs. You cannot justify the hate.

I dont "blame" Italy/UK for anything, we just dont want your ownership model over here. Its fine if you want it, its part of your culture and tradition, but as an outsider to say "**** your 51% model" is - at least - equally devilish to me suggesting that someone should start a BHA supporter club.

Fair enough, still not entirely sure what is so wrong with all that, they moved a club 7 miles, invested heavily in them, and changed their name. How many English clubs have moved (historically) location by a few miles? West Ham, Arsenal, Man City, Brighton, Southampton, Oxford? And loads have had an entity take them over, invest heavily and ‘win’ success, Liverpool, Many City, Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Leicester, would any of these sides got anywhere without huge investment by interested parties? Each to their own, doesn’t bother me one way or another, if you want success, you have to spend the money, and corporations/businesses have the money.

Bayer Leverkusen????? Owned by Bayer.
Wolfsburg, owned by VW, their badge even looks a bit like a VW badge.
I guess you’re not allowed to criticise the establishment, it’s the upstarts that the elite don’t like.

This.

Change is made by being disruptive. Whether it succeeds is whether more people like it than don't like it.

I watched the Spuds game at RBL tonight. Massive packed stadium, sang all night, and the team were a credit. What's not to like?

If that **** at Gillingham had actually built his 40K stadium (half the size of RBL's) and got them in the PL (let alone the last 8 of the CL) rather than huff and puff and sadly sniff the knickers of his disobedient wife, then I am sure few in Gillingham would be crying over having to schlep it over to Strood or wherever

So, now, I invite those who feel the Albion should have gone bust rather than rise like the phoenix at the Amex to step forward. Anyone? Spence? Droopy Rectum?
