Well in 1992 Subbuteo was down for inclusion as one of the demonstration sports at the 1992 Olympics at Barcelona but didn't get picked because at the time the equipment was made by one manufacturer and Olympic requirements meant there needed to be more than one supplier. So if that could happen then darts, snooker, pool etc can all lay claim to a spot

If they'd done that for London 2012, they could've based it in Lancing. Apparently it's one of the best places in Europe for kite-surfing!
