Why is the Yeovil game on at 3pm?

Normally our Home Boxing Day games are on at 1pm.

Why the change this year?

I can't go now.

I think a 3pm KO will suit us. Matches under the Withdean floodlights seem to have a better atmosphere for some reason.

Oh yes the perfect excuse to avoid the relations. Tell every one its a 1pm kick off. Set off early have a couple of hours to yourself/in a pub/public speed wanking, then off to the match for 3pm. Back home later than expected because you didnt realise they'd changed kick off time. just in time for tea.
Perfect.

Seeing first hand what public transport is like in yeovil, i can quite understand why they need the extra 2 hours to get here.
When i went to the game earlier in the season the local bus company stopped running buses at 6:30 and there was a half hour wait for a taxi!! We had to pay a local couple to drive us to the ground!

Most of the above covers it.

3pm is the standard kick off time on Boxing Day. Any change has to be agreed by both clubs and presumably the police.

However, it's a bit disappointing that those NSCers in the police didn't pass on their knowledge that there is bound to be trouble and insist that the match kicks off at 1.

;)

Is that true? That's an absolute arsehole. I have to go to London to see Mrs Saville's family that day and a 3pm kick off pretty much rules out my chances of going. I won't get to them until 9pm. Surely it's not down to Yeovil to set the kick off time.

The away team cannot set the k.o. time, but they have power of veto over any change from the original k.o. time, published by the league as 3.00pm

Agreed, 1pm much better for Boxing Day. 3pm very inconvenient.

If the fixtures had taken into account the desire for an early ko and given us more local opposition we could probably reached agreement for 1.00.
