Why is Paul Reid unfit?

I can understand players that have been out of contract, Darren Currie for example (although you could argue that he should be keeping himself fit to impress potential employers), but Reid was signed last season so has been a Brighton player all summer.

Why is then that it seems he's come back so unfit?

Doubtless he's got talent, but I really hope we've not got another Guy Butters circa 2002 on our hands.

Judging by McGhee's comments in today's Argus he could well be okay for saturday after all as he came from fine at Lewes.

Couple of days hard training and i pray he is ok for Saturday, can't bear the thought of Oatway & Lee together.

I like Reid, I thought he was pretty good but lacked that bit of confidence at the tail end of last season, a goal would've sorted that out. Looking forward to seeing how he does this season.

Thought Reid changed the game for us when he came on at Cardiff. His presence made Bristol City change the way their midfield played which upto then had been running the game. I can see him getting a regular place in the team this season.
