I suspect Gus rested Dunk for 2 main reasons. First, he felt Dunky was moving the ball out of defence a bit slowly and tried Calderon at centre back as he can pass the ball forward more quickly. This was certainly the case at Brum City. Indeed Calderon ventured forward for a shot - somethiing Dunky rarely does unless he is forward for a corner. Secondly, it was a tall order to expect such a totally inexperienced player to perform at the top of his game in such a physical and competitive league week in and week out. In time I would expect him to become a central defender like Greer when he can use his strengths (anticipation, timing, heading etc) as he probably lacks the range of game to be the more attacking centre back with a strong range of passing. Would not be surprised if he reappears on Sunday with Calderon going to right back and Reyes (if fit) moving into mid field.
