No but poyet does.

So you think that the views of people who watch him occasionally on a Saturday afternoon ( including lots who dont go and still have a view) are worth more that the manager and coaching staff?

What utter crap. So you think a player that can beat 5 players in training but can't reproduce that on a Saturday afternoon under pressure is worth a place in the squad. I support what Poyet is doing to a certain extent but that doesn't mean he is above making mistakes. If you want to go and watch Carole train every day of the week then by all means do so but I am concerned with what happens in a competitive environment.

looks like we are going to have to agree to disagree

For what it worth, I think you are talking utter crap, but hey, I think I will stick by Gus's judgement rather than yours

Doesn't stop us having opposing views though

Drew using your analogy you could get any kid from a Sunday League side who is hopeless on the training feld but he might come good on a Saturday. How else can Poyet select his team other than by what he sees in training.

You're right, we can agree to disagree but I would be interest to know whether you saw the Huddersfield and Norwich games and if so, based on his lack of contribution in the first, whether you would have brought him on for the second?

I expect him to make judgements based on performance in matches. Yes, a player can be good in training and that can earn him his chance but if he is utter crap in a real game then the manager has to make a decision whether it is nerves if it his first chance and therefore gives him a second or third, or, following several bad performances, that the guy just can't hack it anymore.

Carole is not a first year pro, and in his latest, and hopefully last, spell with the club, he has yet to do anything worthwhile on the pitch. One nil up against Norwich, he would be the last player I would bring on. But then if I was in the position to make the decision, he would not be at the club, let alone on the bench.

It seems some people see Poyet as black or white. Either you are 100% behind him and support every decision he makes because it is impossible that he is wrong or you want him to go. There is middle ground and Poyet is a young manager with little experience. We need to keep him but he also needs to learn from mistakes as anyone getting to grips with a new job does. If he does then he will get better and better as a manager.

Maybe this is an opportunity for him to do something for us on Tuesday as he sure as hell won't do much on the pitch Tuesday night
