I think there was something last weekend along the lines that Germany has said he has a right to apply for a German passport, but he will have to give up his Australian Citizenship in the process, so it is unlikely he will go ahead with this plan now.

I think a few of the Aussie players over here are looking into family history to get round this stupid decision by the ECB to go back to one overseas player from next season.

Di Venuto at Durham is in the process of applying for an Italian (no surprise with his name) passport.

To be honest I don't think its a stupid decision, and I wish the FA would bring it on in the Premiershite....

I understand people love sport, but I love my country more than to change citizenship just to play...
