- New contract talks begun in December
- Current contract is until 2026, but has a £10m release clause, as it stands
- Heavily linked with Liverpool and Barcelona, but not the favourite for either job

Why have his new contact negotiations stalled? ???

I would think it’s something around the fact that the buy out clause will be increased to a point where it may put off even big clubs from making an approach.
He obviously has ambitions, and unfortunately I think they may be greater than BHA.

I asked this very question to RDZ this morning as we enjoyed a good old British fry up.

He did tell me why he hasn't signed a new contract , but I am forbidden to put it on here as to his strict instructions...." do not tell that nosey **** Mustapha II".

Great, another thread that will be full of pointless speculation, faux ITK bollocks, over-analysis of a few throwaway comments and uninformed drivel because no-one on here has ANY IDEA what stage discussions are at

I’m out
Don't forget the always dooming body language experts will have their say.

Kin ell...thats spooky, I met the great man today for lunch and we had a Good old Sunday Roast leg of lamb, with Raspberry Jus and some goose fat potato's and winter vegetables. He told me he knew Palace job was becoming available and to tell everyone its his dream job.

Being in a live transfer window would be contributory I would have thought based on collective ambitions

Going to Barca, Man Utd, Liverpool, Milan or Juve. Top elite clubs, can you blame him. Lucky to have him. Enjoy it while it lasts

Obviously because they haven’t agreed terms yet. Haven’t you ever negotiated a contract at a new job ? For football people that’s effectively what they are doing when renewing fixed term contracts.

Why was it made public in early December, yet nothing has happened since?

...When you compare this to Potter, signing two new contracts, seemingly out of the blue?

Of course there are many on this thread that vehemently oppose any kind of speculation apparently - but it does seem as if RDZ is asking for more from the club before he signs, if he signs.

Yes, but what’s wrong with asking for more ? Early December to now is less than 2 months which is nothing in contract negotiations for well paid jobs. I know you love a good stir but you are reaching a little here.

The two main things that I recall RDZ saying about it are that he already has a contract that he will honour and he will only sign a new one when both his and the clubs targets are aligned - hence all the endless speculation of what his targets are and what the club will have to do to meet them.
