To top it all, not only is Gross a great get, but Brighton did the deal in May - taking a top target off the market for a low fee. Ironically, it is the sort of efficiency more common in the Bundesliga than the Premier League. Fine work.

He may have done but it suggests he's at Tottenham now so he may have been much further down their list of targets than he was on ours

I reckon there will be a lot more players keen to sign up in January than there were in August and yet we did 85% of our business already with the right sort. Just that pacey striker to go.
