Not a clue I think I'm private.

I hadn't been to the dentist in about 15 years and toothache got really bad last year, I had 12 out in one go
as soon as all of their adult teeth come through they whack braces on the kids, no matter if they need them or not.
Since you are not ingesting the toothpaste when you brush your teeth it is unlikely to add to the flouride levels within your metabolism. It is well established that flouride in toothpastes reduces, and slows down, the development of cavities within the tooth. But you are supposed to rinse out the toothpaste, not eat it.
Many dentists will recommend amalgam fillings that contain mercury which is far more toxic than flouride, however the amount involved in the average filling isn't going to cause most people any problems.
The real concern is with flouridation of drinking water, the WHO suggest a maximum level of 1.5 milligrammes per litre, but in cases where flourosis has been reported the concentration was reported as nearly 150x the recommended maximum level.

That's the weird thing. I've never had toothache in all the time I've not been going to the dentist. I had an abscess in 1996, got some anti biotics and no pain since - now I'm going again, you can bet I'll be in agony from now on!
Americansare more advanced in cosmetic dentistry.
Most middle class americans will have their teeth whitened regularly, and many more have cosmetic veneers than uk people.
I dont know any UK people who do this, but it is increasing in popularity here. My entertainment industry friend have whitening once a year (say its very painful if you have sensitive teeth) to try to get Hollywood smiles.
whitening is vanity not hygiene.
What most people neglect to understand is that tooth decay is only ONE outcome of poor dental hygiene. And not having toothache doesn't mean you have healthy teeth and gums. Call me vain, but I'd rather have all my original teeth, clean, and without fillings. And if one trip to the dentist and hygienist once a year can help that then I'd go. It's about £70 which is just over £5 a month. People don't have any excuse really, cost cannot be a deterrent. You'll be complaining more when your teeth fall out and you need to pay £000's to replace them.
Love, Dad x
I wouldn't have thought a private dentist would turn you down. Or anyone for that matter. Worth trying again, if you want them.

Probably no worse than anyone else, since they consume almost exactly the same amount of raw meat. tbh I think the downsides of doing that would outweigh any dental benefits it might have.Eating raw meat is also a good way of keeping teeth clean. Do Vegos have bad teeth?
You obviously see a lot of Americans with the movie star gleaming teeth, they seem to feel it makes them more attractive and successful but equally a lot have very bad teeth as they cannot afford treatment. Cosmetic dentistry is just another American export to the UK.
