I tend to agree, I think the number of people who've said "well I'm not going unless the club do XYZ (usually to do with cash at the turnstiles)" is very very small. Some people have said that they don't THINK people will go because of XYZ, but that's not quite the same thing.I got quite wound up by this a couple of weeks ago, but when I analysed it, there were about 3 people making out it was such a massive problem, I really don't think we'll miss any of them, I doubt they even go now.
What there HAS been on here is a number of people (including me) wondering how it will all work in practise and pointing out areas where problems and complaints may arise. For me it's transport. I'm not 100% convinced that the trains will cope after the game, especially the westbound ones and especially after evening games. One signal failure ... I'm also think the club are indulging in a bit of wishful thinking in their hope that people will stagger their journeys home by staying on at the stadium after the match has finished. Leaving aside the fact that after a match lot of people just want to get home as soon as possible the facilities at the stadium are going to have to be really top notch to entice people to stay and cope with the volume. The ticketing I personally can live with as by the sound of it it's going to be automated and light years in advance of the current shambolic, people and paper-based system. However it MAY be a hot potato and may need looking at.
Of course one could argue that merely airing these views is being 'negative' and that we should 'trust the club to get it right' but I disagree. However none of my imagined problems (and there WILL be teething problems) are going to STOP me from going, indeed I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to my first visit.
EDIT: Just seen Jack Straw's thread about Forfars potentially being the caterers at Falmer! If that happens then no, I won't be going! McDonalds, Greggs and Carling Black Label will be infinitely preferable.
