Why do curry houses always give you shit brandy after a meal?

Had din dins at the Raj Pavilion last night (malai chicken, sheek kebab, chicken tikka balti) and once again was offered possibly the worst drink you could offer me. Brandy. Cheap brandy.

What is this all about? The women got irish cream and the men brandy. Once again I left mine for fear of depositing my meal back on to the table.

Gis a bottle of beer or summat that doesn't burn off your eyelashes when you smell it.

Sort it out.

I found on Crete that restaurant owners liked to grossly offend their customers by offering them a glass of Raki to remove all traces of a good meal from their palate. Can there ever have been a more foul drink?

Sambuca? After a curry? I bet it wasn't even chilled. YUKKO.

Once I had a sambuca after a meal at Piccolos. I'd been drinking al day and my pasta wa sshit. The sambuca was served in a warm wine glass. I only just made it into the cubicle before completely ruining the place, I certainly wouldn't have wanted to clean THAT up.

Most in Southampton offer a cheap Baileys derivative (hmmm, Baileys. Soft and creamy beige...)

There is one though that has something akin to our very own TUACA.

Grappa and Boukha a fig liquore I brought back from Tunisia a few years ago. Even my hardened drinking friends have given it a swerve when they`ve been round.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I had a free glass of port in the Algarve the other month. I had wolfed down the food in order to rush to a pub to watch the Albion on, but the friendliness of free booze had my linger for another 39 seconds along with an extra euro tip. I don't know if the port was good or bad. Maybe the best idea in life is not to become an expert in any taste and just then only enjoy what you're given to a certain extent to avoid disappointment. What i suppose i am saying is that i will drink anything for free in small doses and not become a grumbler.

Sushi and Saki. Yes pleases.

However, I like the Raj and their service, the food is amazing - one of the best. You can always BUY a beer if you don't want brandy, and don't feckin DRINK the brandy just because it's FREE, you bunch of lowlife tin-can-turning tightwad feeloaders. ???

In India we prefer a Bhang Lassi after a good South Indian Thali. Makes for a dreamy evening playing with the snakes/monkeys/scorpions/dolphins/spiders/leopards/hogs/mongoose or the myriad other creatures we encounter on our walk back to our beach chalet.

Not to do with eating in, but why when you get a takeaway tandoori or tikka do they always give you a bag full of rancid, sopping wet chopped up lettuce and carrot?

Whenever I've been to the Raj Pavilion they've always given me that Baileys-like stuff. Are they trying to tell me something?

You take that back. Rakija is the national drink of Yugoslavia. The glory of our mighty nation is owed to that delectable 50% spirit

The very best thing about the Raj Pavilion is the random spelling variations on their shop sign, the windows and throughout the premises
