We can confidently say we would've been better with Murray. That's a given.

Sorry to report this chaps, but a mate of mine who lives near Murray has texted me to say that there was a police car parked outside of Murray's home all afternoon. A resignation for personal and family reasons looks on the cards.

I think your mate is taking you for a mug. As already said, if it was a serious issue he wouldn't have been anywhere near Bournemouth this afternoon.

Gus' interview was quite telling. He clearly doesn't rate Murray as highly as the rest of us do.
Im sure he rates him,but i would suspect that murrays attitude could be the problem.Lets be honest we,ve had many issues with murray in the past.

Im with gus whatever he thinks is right:thumbsup:

Lots of better quality players have attitude and often it makes them stand out from their more humdrum peers. Attitude or not Murray is the most naturally talented player that we have and we should be pulling out all the stops to keep him. He is more valuable to the team that Bennett in my view although I don't want to see either of them leave.

Poyet caused a surprise by leaving top-scorer Murray on the bench at kick-off.

He added: "It's very simple. I know Glenn better than anyone.

"People see players from three til five on Saturday. I see them every day.

"I'm pleased to be in charge and to make the decision when to play him and when not to play him."

How do you know that murray isn't asking for silly wages?
How do you know that murrays heart is still up north?
Nobody knows nothing, quiet frankly its either he's staying or going as its getting very boring now.

Must confess that something about murray really fu$ks me off:angry:

Fair enough Gus but unfortunately you still got it wrong. You're right, we only see him on match days, but that's when it matters and nowadays Glenn ALWAYS delivers.

I don't like the sound of that coming from Gus

Is gus not allowed to have faith in the strikers that whipped portsmouth last week?

Weird cos I thought Murray was superb in that game. Without him it wouldn't have been anywhere near as easy.

Quite. Which suggests that there was more to Murray's omission than meets the eye.

Is it not possible that in the past when murray was inconsistent, it followed inconsistent form in training, and that the recent run of form he has had in matches has been reflected with a run of form in training. That in the past week his training form has returned to that of when he was inconsistent in matches and Gus didn't want to risk it from the start? And, if that is the case, perhaps his performance off the bench today was better than it would have been from the start because being dropped to the bench made him step up more than he would have?

I don't know, I don't see him in training. It may be that there was no difference in his form in training to recent weeks when he has been playing well in matches, but I have no reason to question Gus's judgement.

Assuming Murray needed a rest and he is not going anywhere...

Will he still be wrong if Murray comes out all guns blazing on Tuesday and helps secure us 3 points?

There are times when Murray is a joy to watch but there are also times when he is a total waste of space. Personally, i think the timing of his recent form is no coincidence.

Sounds like a viable scenario. And certainly better than people spuriously claiming that there was 'a police car outside his house', he's unhappy, egotistical, lazy etc etc Did it occur to anyone that he may have been more prominent in the clapping at the end simply because he's actually very content at Brighton now and enjoying being fully fit and part of a successful squad?

Of course, he may be off.... but some of the rumours that circulate on here are downright rude.
