this is definitely a topic that's been touched on before but it's absolutely doing my head in now. may as well just give goal kicks when we play because at the moment we cannot seem to generate anything of not from set pieces.

the reason I ask it's because it's not as simple as one factor, sometimes the delivery is very good, we do have some big ladsin our team yet never seem to even get close

They're an absolute waste of time for us.

We only have one real aerial threat, Dunk, and he's always marked out of it.

Perhaps we will score more if/when we start seeing Webster and Ferguson on the pitch at the same time.

Less than 2% goals come from in football. Wonder what ours is. Half that? 0.5%? Corners are generally a waste of time everywhere but probably more so at the Albion. Since I can remember, not just this season.

Alexis mcallister or Estupinian to take them.. solly high ball curl or kick it out for goal kick never works..

I must admit my heart sinks every time i see solly step up to take one. Barely ever gets past the first defender. Gross or macallister should be.
If Solly, or any of our players, as so consistently sending it to the first defender, why aren't any of our others players making a run to get infront of him to flick it on or direct it to goal?

All our set pieces seem a bit ineffective. Probably arts to prove me wrong but doesn’t feel like we pose much of a threat from them.

Don’t even know why Amex crowds get a boner when we get a corner.

We’re just shit at them. Great deliveries, missed our so called giants, eaten up by the oppositon.
Is there anyone in particular that is stretching their linen? Please name them.

I don’t know if it’s nostalgia but that season we won back to back titles at the Withdean, it felt like we scored loads of goals from corners?

It's not nostalgia.

It points to a very odd truth that when we were in division 4, we had a better set piece taker and a better header of the ball than we can get on the pitch when we're 6th in the PL.

It’s painful to see, a massive anti-climax every time we’re given one. We should just let the opposition have a goal kick, would be more dangerous.

Or let Mac Allister take some. Gross is a brilliant player and has been a wonderful servant for us but his set pieces have been awful for years. As wonderful as Solly is, his are no better either.

Whenever Trossard took Set pieces, they were always more dangerous. It’s genuinely a mystery why we’ve persisted with Gross and March taking them for so long.
