Not Luton! Thank God
their advert for the games coverage is quite superb.

We are looking at getting tickets for a day pass £15 to the park which gives you access to loads of events....I want to see our squaddies beating the shit out of the rest of the world in the wheelchair basketball..LOL

They are good tickets. Not going to be loads available mind so you'll need to move quickly when they come available.

I will watch it, and if channel 4's coverage is even half as good as the BBC's, then it will be worth watching. Cheeky Monkey, I do agree with the points you make about some of the events giving certain people advantages, but I just marvel at the effort, skill and determination of the competitors, in much the same way as the able bodied athletes that done us proud over the last two weeks.

Pork Pie, if it doesn't appeal to you, fine, but don't patronise the rest of us by claiming our interest in watching stems from an attempt to be ultra PC.

For what it's worth, I think they're potentially going to be the most successful Paralympics ever. I know so many people who couldn't get tickets for the Olympics but have been so caught up in the atmosphere around them that they're buying Paralympic tickets just so be part of it.

There's nothing PC about cheering the likes of David Weir or Shelly Woods (wheelchair marathoners, since you ask). I'm looking forward to the games.

No! Not everyone is so ultra PC as to pretend they are actually interested in watching them in preference to normal TV. As I said, good luck to them all, but not my idea of prime-time entertainment on my TV. Clearly I am not the only one, or BBC would have been showing it. Somewhere like Channel 4 is far more appropriate.

couldnt agree more.

couldn't agree less.... The fact that it is competitve and these athletes have dedicated probably as much of their lives to their chosen sport at many of the able athletes.

I for one will love watching any competitive sport able bodied or not...

LETS GO GB... LETS GO

Because the reality is not a lot of people will watch it. Bit like Champions League compared to Europa Cup. Hence BBC1,3 etc etc and Channel 5. Sad but I suspect very true, if the demand was there for it you would have though even ITV would have pitched up for it, simple fact is It's a very poor follow up to what's just happened.

The simple reason is that Channel 4 outbid the BBC for the rights. There is nothing about it being 'appropriate' - it is purely financial. Channel 4 will provide more paralympic coverage than ever before. There have been more tickets sold for the paralympics than ever before. It will be awesome. I understand people not wanting to watch - not everyone likes the same things - that's life. However, I can't frikkin' wait!

Just seen on the BBC website that over 2.1 of 2.5m available tickets have already been sold, and they are expecting all of the rest to be sold, too.
Fantastic interest in the olympics, whether it be for able-bodied or disabled athletes!

How on earth can ANYONE on here prefer to watch Eastenders FFS!
