BBC coverage has been fantastic, would've been great to see that continue into the para's.

Budget? It must have cost a fortune over the last two weeks. I agree they did a first class job.

I think Channel 4 got it because they promised to make a big deal of the paralympics - in the past it has often appeared to be a bit of an afterthought. Channel 4 have put on a lot a disability sport programmes in the last year in the run up to the paraympics.

I actually think they'll do a good job. Bring on the wheelchair rugby!

I'm just thankful someone's showing it, apparently no-one's broadcasting it at all in the States. Although Channel 4's only showing about 150 hours (compared to about 5,000 for the BBC on the Olympics), it's better than having no coverage at all.

Apparently there'll also be online stuff direct from the Paralympics, rather than through a broadcaster, although I expect it will lack commentary.

their advert for the games coverage is quite superb.

We are looking at getting tickets for a day pass £15 to the park which gives you access to loads of events....I want to see our squaddies beating the shit out of the rest of the world in the wheelchair basketball..LOL

The BBC aren't broadcasting because it doesn't have a fraction of the appeal of the main olympics. The inequality of the line-ups in certain events is a big detracting factor for me - having an athlete with dwarfism swimming against a six foot athlete lower leg amputee for example makes no sense at all. I know you can't have a field where every competitor in a particular running or swimming event has exactly the same physical disability, but it does detract, and people might say "Well Usain Bolt is 6ft whatever, while Blake is 5ft whatever so how is that a level playing field?" but it's not the same thing.

Pork pie land.

No! Not everyone is so ultra PC as to pretend they are actually interested in watching them in preference to normal TV. As I said, good luck to them all, but not my idea of prime-time entertainment on my TV. Clearly I am not the only one, or BBC would have been showing it. Somewhere like Channel 4 is far more appropriate.
