Why are some our our supporters being so negative?

Yes I know its been done to death on this board  but I just do not understand some of the comments about the game yesterday,or Gus Poyet.

Most of the posters making this comments are loyal fans that went in the bad days at the end of the Goldstone,Gillingham etc.
And as some-one has posted on here today 3 years ago we lost to Swindon are were in the bottom 4 of League one.

I am so proud of our club lying 6th in the championship in a brand new spanking ground with a team of players that 3 years ago all fans would of laughed you out of the ground if you said cms etc would be in our team.

This in league final placings will be our best finish since 1990-91 and could be the first time we finish above Palace since 85-86.

Of course its great that people have their own views etc but to slag off the manager and team just seems to be crazy to me

Enjoy the weekend :albion2::albion2:

Maybe some if it is down to anger at losing a game like yesterday. On paper we are a much better team than Burnley. Regardless of how far we have come, which is absolutely fantastic, it can be frustrating to lose a game like that and the manager and players should take responsibility for it. Because we have achieved so much, we should win games like that. We have to stop being apologetic and star struck that we are top 6 in the championship. We have earnt that right because of the owner, ground, manager and squad.

I'd be more concerned if fans weren't upset by that result because in my opinion it shows lack of ambition otherwise.

Onwards & upwards for Tuesday, nothing to fear.

Probably because yesterday was fairly rubbish?

Wherever we end up this season it will have been a good one but it felt like we had a real chance of making the playoffs but yesterday we shot ourselves in the foot and now it looks very difficult to do that. Which is disappointing, depsite what a good season it's been overall. I can certainly understand people putting it in perspective but I can't understand if they don't feel a little bit down about yesterday's result.

Of course you have to accept a bad performance. What difference does not accepting a bad performance make? It doesn't change the result.

There's quite a difference between not accepting it and going completely over the top about it. A lot of people here are doing the latter.

Every team has a bad performance we have had a few this season and won Forest at home.I am sick and tierd of so called fans moaning every time we lose a game (which has been only twice in the league this year) Some fans just so ungratefull we play in a new ground in the championship and yet still moan and whinge.

Fair comment , I just find the people who say look how far we've come is as annoying as the posts about people slagging the team of for just one bad performance

After setting off at 0610 and getting home at midnight, I can't help feeling pissed off and negative about a shit performance

Well that's football for you. If you can't accept that we might be rubbish on occasions, I suggest you save your money & find something else to do.

That sounds dangerously close to the old 'we should be beating teams like Burnley' do you remember when this site would kick off when someone said it about us? I hope we haven't become that arrogant.

This. It's not really our job to pick the team or tactics. It's our job to support the team. People should save the negativity for when it's really warranted. No team wins every game.

I think this is part of the problem, you say we are better on paper than Burnley but are we?

Look at the team from yesterday

Sexy Pete, out of a job when he came to us
Calderon, Spanish second division
Greer, ex......Swindon
Bomber......Albion youth
Mattocks, West Brom reserves
Reyes, West Brom reserves
Navarro, A Bosman from Franchise FC
Dicker, ex Stockport
Vicente, physio's bench at Valencia
CMS, one undistinguished season in this division before with Posh
Vokes, Wolves reserves

Frankly I still think it is staggering we are just outside the play-offs.

I'd add to that by saying the disappoinment from yesterday, is we SHOULD have beaten Burnley at a canter.

Poyet has built a great squad, but seems incapable of picking a team to win these types of games. We had every outfield player on the bench, play winger. Hardly ever did we have an out and out winger yesterday. Beggers belief.

Eddie Howe may not be everyones cup of tea, but he sure knows how to put one over Gus.

Why should we have beaten them? I am not looking for a fight, but there is no objective evidence to support your assertion we should have won by a canter.

Our team has less experience in this division, and we pay lower wages, and our away form has been mediocre, if you think about Hull, Donny, Forest, Blackpool and now Burnley, four points and four goals in five games.
