March 9 1988 - Brighton host Notts County in the semi-final (southern section) of the Sherpa Van Trophy. Let's just say things don't go quite as planned.

Long before the final goal in a 5-1 thrashing had hit the back of the net the North Stand were chanting:-

I NEVER heard that one sung, I wish I had! All these years I have just assumed it was a fine chant that had passed us by.

If I was in the north, I'd be bang up for starting that one up now that I'm all grown up and that.

Definitely got sung, a lot! I dust it off & bring it out now & again during a post victory sing song. Normally results in someone of a similar vintage remarking, "**** me, you go back a bit!"
