It must be the football expert who in WSU Block H always yelled several times each game in his best Phil Mitchell:

“Man on”.

“Down the channel for f*ck sake”.

:lolol:

I don't sit far away from that.

We had a coach when I was playing youth football who had an obsession with being first to the ball. Then much later in life I played 4 a side at Westows and one of the other teams had someone who would always say "seconds" for a second ball. I think it started as a joke but by the end of the season every time the ball went loose someone would yell "seconds".

I therefore have a tendency to yell "first to it" and "seconds" at the appropriate time from the WSU even though no **** can hear me on the pitch.

I used to think these phrases were limited to amateur football, "seconds", all that. Watching Ben Foster's videos on YouTube with the camera in the goal put paid to that. Every single cross, "AWAAAY"

Seconds on a full sized 11 a side pitch is sort of forgivable whatever the standard. I also reckon "man on", "OUT" and "time" are universal.

The thing that made me laugh about Westows was the concept of a second ball in 4-a-side cage ball. You could tell we were shit :lolol:

I always assumed that the guy’d coached kids or a team in Brighton League Division 9. So many folk have after attending rudimentary courses, more often than not motivated by coaching a team with their darling son in it. Shouts are then engrained in the mind.

I’m normally fairly quietly spoken, but at matches have been known to bellow “Montoya, WAKE UP” when we were being torn apart down our right. Made my son laugh.

I think it’s sheebo :)

:lolol:
sheebo’s too positive and loyal.

The miserable bloke we had to endure in those early Amex seasons, was booted out by stewards one halftime and disappeared for a few months (ban?) after OTT abuse of David Lopez.

I have a thing for criticizing linespersons ears, for reasons I've yet to fathom :lolol:

Regardless of the actual size of their ears I find myself shouting 'Oi big ears are you even watching the ****ing game?' to no one in particular :ffsparr:

Have you still got a season ticket in WSU?

A long story, but I later became nomadic buying on a match by match basis, finally settling with another s/t in the NS.

The WSU seats were amazing, front row and at an aisle ... so we could run on 65 minutes if we went a goal down and not disturb others.

Christ.

How could anyone abuse Spanish Dave? Thank goodness that miserable James was sniffed out. It's one step removed from piling on Calde or Bruno.

I’ve been in the NS for cup games and a friendly, i definitely prefer the WSU.

I am lucky enough to be next to an aisle, handy when I decide to have an extra pint in the pub, get to the Amex and sit down 30 seconds before kick off. :)

Duffy used to do it,then I couldn't hear anyone do it,but now someone is doing it so I would guess Sanchez?
Or maybe Dunk is finding his voice,he seems much more like an on the pitch leader this season.

Factoring in the accent, I think he was signalling he needed the toilet.

I really like the NS, I had thought I wouldn’t like the view with the other goal 100 plus metres away.

For the Easter 17 Wigan pitch invasion, from WSU was abseiling the route down or a charge down the 120 steps the via another stand?

Many years ago away at Brentford when we had the terracing at the top end of the ground I was stood close to a bloke who spent the whole game as if he was a defender on the pitch and continually shouted out, up and various other instructions rather than joining in the usual chants.
Strange, but at least he wasn't a moaner.

He definitely used to sit behind us at Withdean on the half way line about 10 rows up. His prompt was often Cullip's cry of ' let's have a feckin winner '.

At Withdean I sat near some guy a few times who shouted at / personally coached Tommy Elphick for the entire game. Mostly involved shouting concentrate Tommy every 20 seconds. Strange as I'm sure he couldn't hear anything from that range.
