Took a proper day off, but mainly because it's my step-daughters 18th today as well.

Came home early and brought work with me (paper, not the people, desk etc). Found this note on the kitchen table...

"Taken kids to the park so you can watch the football in peace. Beers in fridge xx"

Sometimes I remember why I got married.

Conveniently I had to stay home for a delivery today.

However, where I work there are TVs showing the world cup, so I'll still be able o watch when I'm at work.

I'd only miss work for an England game, certainly not for an opening ceremony and game like S Africa/Mexico!

Didn't need to skive. Watched the first half at work in the canteen then came home to catch the second half. Now have a week off. Happy days.

Took the afternoon off as flexitime, and now have 2 weeks off for annual leave.

I am using flexitime again to take the afternoon off on the 28th and 29th of June and 2nd of July so i shouldn't miss a game

I finished exams a week or two ago so I was perfectly set to gorge myself on the World Cup. Then I realised I told work I would work a week earlier than I meant to, and was told that half the staff were on holiday in the next two weeks, so I barely have a day off.

:censored::censored::censored:

There goes the one chance I'll ever have to properly watch a World Cup!

I worked from home yesterday but it wasn't to watch the start of the Workd Cup. The other half is due to give birth to our son in two weeks and we had a scan on the baby as the midwife thought he might be breech. As I work two hours from home it would have made travelling to the office rather pointless. Thankfully all is good with the scan, he's in the correct position and already weighs a healthy 7lb 5ozs according to measurements taken in the scan. I'm not sure the misses is looking forward to an 8lb+ baby popping out in a few weeks.
