Yes, I was just letting my ignorance fuel a bit of low comedy. It's what I do
Yeah there's three names there I don't know either so I don't blame you  Gotta be pretty hardcore to know all of them I think.

Woah, hold on there everyone

I was told on here Hurzeler is a complete clown who doesn’t know his arse from his elbow, couldn’t coach a school team and was more of a fraud than the average Nigerian prince?
He needs to GO - and he can take the £200m of dross signed over the summer with him :dunce:

Where's the fella at Nottingham forest 😆
Quite. Whatever algorithms they may use, I just ignore all this stuff. And folk only use it to search for some kind of fake validation or the opposite. No club would use it. Well, Chelsea maybe.

Anyone who gets a hair transplant is a FRAUD. Underneath that thick scalp of lovely hair, he's a bald FRAUD. Just like Pep FRAUDIOLA. Or something.

There are many more frauds than people know.

Hmmm. Smacks a bit of ‘fastest growing sport in the country’ which is a claim I’ve seen a lot over the years. 2 people were playing it last year, 20 people are playing it now - tenfold increase but essentially meaningless.

Meanwhile Nuno has transformed Forest in the toughest possible environment but won’t feature because his ‘improvement’ is a lot less obvious.

Not a dig at Hurzeler. Just a dig at vaguely interesting but largely pointless stats.

How is Santo not in this list? Appointed in Dec 2023 and 12 months ago Forest were 17th with 14 points from 18 games. Today, after 19 games they are 2nd on 37 points. Their website states -

How is the Head Coach Rating calculated?

Broadly, a Head Coach’s rating takes into account:
  • The average Team Rating of clubs the Head Coach has managed - what level does the Coach manage at?
  • Their impact in the Team Rating - does the Coach make their teams better?
  • Net spend versus expected spend - do the Coach’s teams spend (or receive) more or less in transfer fees than other teams in the same league?
All of these metrics are weighted so that more recent matches and managerial roles contribute more to the overall score.

I think it's probably obvious with only FH and Enzo appearing on this list as current EPL Managers, it's purely down to neither of them managing at this level until the middle of 2024, hence their rating increasing. Nuno and others have previously managed in the EPL, Nuno for a few years, so their rating is probably at it's highest point and has been for years, so not a lot of improvement when compared to FH and Enzo.

The table appeared on my FB feed so I thought it would be fun to post it ;-)

IF it's 2024 performance then FB was measured Jan-Jun with St Pauli and Jul-Nov? with BHA
His failure to win any game in Dec was probably not included in the calcs?

So his 2024 "score" will have been massively (>50%) influenced by is St Pauli efforts and less so buy his BHA achievements.

Probably the opposite - he's gone from coaching a German 2nd Div side to coaching a side that has been placed between 2nd and 10th in the EPL - I'm not sure these ratings move much after individual games.

If you look at the biggest Improver Nicky Hayen, he's gone from coaching Haverfordwest County in the Welsh Premier League 2021-22, then to Club NXT (Club Brugge Academy) from 2022-24 and now is coaching Club Brugge who are 2nd in the Belgian Pro League. His rating has improved to 81.3, whereas FH is 81.2, so you have to deduce that they rate 2nd in the Belgian Pro League similar to 10th in the EPL.

Just looking at a couple of others, Eric Roy hasn't coached since 2017 before coaching Breast since the beginning of 2023 and they are playing Champions League football this season. Carles Martinez coached Kuwait U20's 2020-22 before joining Toulouse from the beginning of 2023.

You get the picture, it's more about the level of who they are coaching having more bearing than individual results imho.

Was going to say something similar. Growth is easy when you are starting from nothing, or near nothing. It's much harder when you are already at the top. So second tier in Germany to mid table premier league, is obviously pretty big "growth".

And no, I'm not knocking Fab either. I'm still hoping he'll come good for us. Just that you need to be careful with this kind of stat.
