Have not been to Middleboro since a 0-0 draw in the fog in 1984. Fourteen hours in a coach with no heating, could not see the other side of the pitch, then walking home to Woodingdean when we arrived back home gone midnight at the Old Steyne.......glory days:nono:

I really want to go I just hope they say when the match will be held as I need to get the time off work. Too good an opportunity to miss. I,m sure Middlesbrough will enjoy our singing:lolol: and of course our quality football!!!

I'll be there, Superwife might not be able to get the time off but if she does we'll be getting the coach.

Gotta be a possible upset eh?

I'd love to go, but I honestly don't think the car would make it.

You realise, of course, that the crowd will probably be smaller than we'd get at Withdean? When Boro drew Man United a couple of seasons back only 20,000 odd turned up, and their usual League Cup gate is about 5,000.

So much for the "money-spinning" draw that Southern FM announced it was. I had to go to Middlesbrough on an A Level Geography field trip once, and I can honestly say it was the most unpleasant place I had ever been to.

Though I'd never been to Gillingham at that point.

Walsall took some beating as well, but Middlesbrough is undoubtedly the winner for several hundreds of miles of derelict steelworks, disused factories and the depressed and throughly miserable population which neither Yorkshire nor Tyne & Wear wants to claim. Oh and the brown rivers and haze in the air.

Apart from that, it's quite nice.

I went to Middlesbrough on an A-level field trip aswell circa 1992 with Haywards Heath Sixth Form and it was truely a horrible experience, closely following Gillingham in pikeyness.

With regards to going to the game, I was intending on leaving my job at 3.30 and travelling almost anywhere, 5.30 on Saturday afternoon when we had just missed trips to Spurs and Birmingham etc the only words I could mutter all evening were f***ing Middlesbrough over and over again. I would have gone if it were the third round cos that's half term. V Pissed off.
