Sorry, but shipping him out to the U23's after just two first class games is going to do much more to destroy his confidence than another bad game, IMHO.
I would start him and show the lad we have faith in him. A good game could be the confidence boost he needs.
I am pretty sure there was a similar poll like this five games into Stockdales first season with us.
Goalkeepers take a while to settle, to get used to their new defenders and the way they play. It takes a while for them to develope an understanding, know when the goalie is coming and when he is going to stay at home.
Give him the first ten games and then if he is still wobbly, drop him.
That said. A good bigun will always beat a good shortun in my book.
