Assuming we can get past the Swiss and Croatians, who would you rather play in the next round? Spain, Greece, Russia or Portugal. We'll probably have to play the winners of this group.

After seeing today's game I must say Spain looked good in parts but I wouldn't fear playing either them or Greece. This isn't the World Cup with Brazil and Argentina looming. We really do have a reasonable chance of winning the cup.

UEFA must have something in place for eventualities like this...

I think the final choice is drawing lots

If Portugal and Russia draw tonight, then Russia beat Greece and Portugal beat Spain on Sunday, all four teams in Group A will finish on 4 points.

What happens then?
Decided on Goal Difference followed by Goals Scored I think you'll find. If all have same GD & GS decided on lots as what last happened in Italia 90 Ireland/Holland.

If Portugal got through and we faced them, they would have so much pressure on them they could crack.

i remember that wat away to go out of the tournemont thats got to be worse than penalties but wat choice have thay got

i think as well as goals scored and goals difference it will probably be on how they did against each other

Here's what the UEFA site says about drawn groups...

During the UEFA EURO 2004™ group stage, each team will meet their group opponents once, with three points for a win and one for a draw. The top two teams progress to the quarter-finals, the knockout phase of the competition, with the winners advancing to the semi-finals and then the final.

Tie breakers
If teams finish level on points, then the winner of the match between the sides in question will finish highest, or should they have drawn, goal difference, followed by goals scored, qualifying record for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2004™, a fair play ranking and finally either a penalty shoot-out or drawing of lots.

But if Portugal draw with Russia tonight and all 4 teams were to tie on points, goal difference and goals scored (could still happen), then who beat who is irrelevant as each team would only have won one game each, therefore no-one has an advantage!!! Could be very interesting if it happens.

The penalty shoot-out would be interesting if all 4 were tied!!!

Bit unfair to Portugal, they aint got a qualifying record for Euro 2004!!! Would leave them bottom. Still all looking irrelevant as Portugal are 1 up and going at the Vodka drinkers
