No, our truely great Chairmen from the 70s & 80s! Unlike our current joker, he put a fortune into the club and took us all the way to Wembly and the top Div! It must be him!:drink:

Whilst I think he was a great chairman. I don't think you'll find he risked his own wallet on getting us where he did. I'm sure I remember my old man moaning about it all being on borrowed money and why didn't he invest his own cash.

Probably makes him even better, though, as he got the success without having to stump up his own cash, which marks him out as a proper businessman, doesn't it?

I won't knock Knight either. He stepped in when there was nobody else to turn to. How can anyone say there wouldn't be a club without Reinelt, Gritt, etc. Without Sir Dick, none of those characters would have mattered a jot.

I think you will find that he put most of his money in as loans to the club, as Chairmen do. The problem was paying his family back when he fell ill!

A walk of Fame, with all the above (+Bamber, Gritt, Napier etc) in chronological order with Dick nearest the stadium and lots of room for our future heroes :clap2:

Well, Peter Ward is well in the lead with Robbie Reinalt picking up a lot of votes for "that goal".

However, after today's news how about a few more votes for our legendary number 25!?!

:)

Richard Tiltman.

It would give us a nice sense of perspective before every match. We'd never moan at any of our current players again!
