who would be interested in a protest game at falmer?

I have a genius marketing plan to get further media coverage on our fight for a game. At the end of the season, on behalf of the club, a massive free for all footy game should be organised on the falmer site.

Supporters of every club in the country should be invited to attend and show their support.

A secondry aim of breaking some world record for the most particapents in a game of football would perhaps provide world wide coverage an encourage more people to attend.

Thirdly it could become an annual event in celebration of fans united and falmer - think of the revenue that could be earned for the club or fans- united.

So who would be interested in taking part?

I think we'd get done for trespass.

i thought they said it was public land and an area of natural beauty, how can that be trespass - it is just a case of a lot of people on a walk, having a picnic in the field and deciding to have a kick around.

Who owns the land?

Surely we could have a kick-about on the bit already owned by the council? ???

exactly, i don't think there is any signs saying no ball games - it would be simular to a kick around in the park - just more stamford bridge style playing surface

Even better. How about we all decide by coincedence to go for a pic-nic by the duck pond in Falmer village on the same Saturday afternoon and someone brings a ball!

football and a swim followed by camp fire duck cooked by a donatello (sp?) chef that by coincednence had a industrial barbecue in the back of his car whilst taking a short cut through falmer village.

I thought the council currently rent the field to a farmer, so it is technically his land.

I may be wrong.

i'm sure a small collection/donation could be arranged that would mean the farmer opening his field/ land up for the weekend. After all usually farmers are happy for the extra revenue.

I'd be up for it for a laugh, although I can't imagine much passing football on a ploughed field :lolol:

You'd get more press if you did it in Toys R Us car park.

How about in April, on the 9th anniversary of the last Goldstone game?

Now that sounds like a plan

It could be done when all the shops are closed, thus allowing a very large, flat pitch.

I, like most of you, haven't set foot on that sacred piece of land. I would for this though.

I reckon we could get a few hundred a side and a ton of press down.

Thoughts?

Nice idea, but I haven't set foot there since 1997 and I plan on starting until Falmer is built.

How about a Red Bull style flugtag (or whatever it's called). We could all build things out of shopping trolleys or prams and jump them into the village pond.

It could be done with minimial disruption to the shops, which is very improtant.

Say, early evening around 7pm. Permission from all the shops. Hundred a side, everyone wearing blue and white, against red and blacks.

I have mailed the club to see if they would like to be involved or even simply provide information on how to arrange such an event.

I would like to point out however, it's my ball and.......... applys.
