Clegg did well, but should have worn a darker suit, to add gravitas - plus a less predicable tie.

...less predictable than Cameron wearing a blue tie or Gordon wearing a red one?

Thus far the LibDem campaign reads as follows...

"We're not them. Vote for us".

And that's your lot.

Personally, I'm a bit sick of the LabLib stitch up. Throughout the pair have been banging on about the fear of a Tory nation. I thought I'd have a look at the LibDem view on deficit reduction to see if they could put their money where their mouth is. Buried away in a backwater of their website was a 2 page .pdf document which pretty much says they will "make tough choices", cap public sector pay rises at £400 and set up a committee to chew it over. That's a lamentable offering. The Tories offered 14 pages alone on the National Insurance issue.

I'm still working on this. I won't be voting Labour but I will be reading the LibDem manifesto in full. It sounds interesting, as it is costed. However, the lack of a credible deficit plan is worrying. The wholehearted embrace of Europe even more so.

Clegg came through the best with Brown second. Many Tories unhappy wiith Camerons performance - well the ones not wearing rose specs at least.

cameron 53%
clegg28%

so round 1 cameron

...which begs the question, did they ask anyone who was actually watching the debate?

Our totally unscientific finger in the air poll has Clegg winning by a country mile.

Clegg .

Brown or Cameron not convincing. Cameron running the country is a bad thought and luckily he did himself no favours tonight
