Think it's IFK we're thinking of in Gothenburg. Stadium only holds about 18,000 I believe
That’s Gamla (old) Ullevi where IFK play most matches. (New) Ullevi holds c45k- Ive seen England play there and it’s where Göteborg play their big games. Walked around outside of both the other week- about 400 yards apart!

Delighted that Aberdeen are out. I wish Rangers were too. All our lives we've waited for the miracle of European football: I don't want to go to bloody SCOTCHLAND.

Brighton & Hove Albion's journey in the Europa League begins!
Here is the full list of teams who have qualified for the competition:

What you need to know:
- We cannot draw a club from the same football association (England) so that will mean no Liverpool or West Ham in the group stage.
- We cannot draw a club from the same pot (three) so that will mean no Molde, Sheriff Tiraspol, Union SG, Freiburg, Sparta Prague, Maccabi Haifa or Sturm Graz.
- A team from each of the other pots (one, two & four) will be selected as our opponents in the Europa League draw, tomorrow at midday, so who will you want?

Ah thanks - didn't realise that. Would Haeken likely play there in Europe?

Pot 4 is intense!!

Dream group all?
It's easier to pick a shit group you don't want:

1) Obviously Rangers. Scotch, sectarian, piss flowing the streets of Brighton for about 4 days.
2) Qarabag, Flair draw, but who's seriously going there?
4) TSC. Who?

I'd take
1) Anyone but Rangers. Perhaps not Leverkusen because of the lack of tickets
2) Any from the top 5
4) Not TSC or Rakov.

Last time I was in Bulgaria I got mugged off with the equivalent of a Serbian 20p as a note so I’d go to TSC to make sure I can spend it

So winning the Europa conference last year not only puts West Ham automatically in to the Europa League, but it automatically puts them in pot 1?

Rangers in Pot 1.

That has to be the best draw for us getting out of the group.

Qarabag and Hacken are my other choices.

Group of life.

It has been a busy day, but I might as well do a final report on the qualifying matches - this time, the Europa League play-offs.
Today, we now know the last 10 qualifiers for the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League as they won their play-off matches!
Screenshot 2023-08-31 22.05.20.png

So who are they?
  • Slavia Prague (Czechia) won on aggregate against Zorya Luhansk (Ukraine) despite losing 2-1 away in the second leg.
  • Olympiacos (Greece) won 6-1 on aggregate against Cukaricki (Serbia) with an impressive 3-0 away win today - there are three teams from Athens now in Europa!
  • Union Saint-Gilloise (Belgium) owned by a certain Tony Bloom 😏 won 1-0 away at Lugano (Switzerland) for a cheeky 3-0 aggregate win.
  • Ajax (Netherlands) lost 1-0 at home to Ludogorets Razgrad (Bulgaria) today but that didn't matter as they still progress as 4-2 aggregate winners!
  • BK Hacken (Sweden) is continuing the enjoyable Scottish curse as they won away to Aberdeen 3-1 and 5-3 on aggregate.
  • LASK (Austria) drew 1-1 at home against Zrinjski Mostar (Bosnia & Herzegovina) but that was enough as they progress with a 3-2 aggregate win.
  • Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova) defeated the resilient Klaksvik (Faroe Islands) with a 2-1 home win and therefore a 3-2 aggregate victory.
  • Qarabag (Azerbaijan) drew 1-1 away at Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia) to secure their spot as they advance 3-1 aggregate winners.
  • Aris Limassol (Cyprus) won 6-2 at home to Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia) in an incredible aggregate comeback of 7 goals to 4.
  • But, Sparta Prague was the story of the day! They were losing 3-1 on aggregate in the first leg but an amazing second leg comeback at home, where they would beat Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) by 4-1 would book their place in the Europa League groups - winning 5-4 on aggregate!
As always, the list of qualified teams will be recorded on post #1 of this thread.
But if you want to see them in their respective pots (Brighton are in pot three) then check post #366 (y)

I really don't want them here either.
