That does my head in, I never heard anybody mention the part he played in keeping the penalty out v pompey which ultimately won us the game !

I agree that he has been more than adequate for us and I am happy with him but I am concerned about our inability to deal with high crosses whether it be the keeper or the central or other defenders responsible. I think we are lacking in aerial ability in either box sad to say it has become apparent since Murray has left.

Gus wanted to cull the squad and have a much smaller one, in which EVERY player would have a part to play. Gus has done the culling and we now have quite a small 1st team squad, which will grow with a couple of additions. But even when they arrive I still think everyone will get games, whether it's due to team tactics, injuries or suspension. He would not have given Dicker a new contract if he didn't think he was up to it. We don't have any weak links in this team imo and I'm sick of people looking for somebody to have a go about. There were NO weak players yesterday imo.

What does one have to do with the other?
There was a thread praising Ankergren for his entire pompey performance, including the penalty save.
His part in keeping out that penalty was not saving the initial shot which hit the post, and still being on the ground when the follow up shot was hit comparatively tamely at him, which probably has more to do with why his part in keeping out the penalty hasn't received the plaudits you think it deserves nor has it been used as a counter to his part in the first goal v Blackpool.

2nd half it was plain to see Blackpool targetted Painter and once Noone went off their left back was going forward all the time. On our right Painter wasn't helped by Lua Lua's lack of tackling back and he did loss the ball a few times in the wrong place.

You have got your lefts and rights mixed up as Painter is left back and it was the Blackpool right back who was getting forward as Lua Lua wasn't forcing him back.

If Lua Lua had been tip top the score yesterday could have been 4-0 to us with Kazenga coming on with a classy cameo like he did at Charlton last season. Its the way Gus thinks. This time it didn`t work but that`s life boys.
