Duran Duran 1981 think it was September in Long Island - I remember it took a longer drive than usual from the upper east side of Manhattan due to what must have been traffic congestion. Used to go to Long Island a lot when I was a kid .

Hammersmith Palais - 1979 (or possibly 1980)

First act was Lew Lewis Reformer. The ‘main support act’ was The Specials.

And headline was Rockpile - Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds.

The two main bands were excellent, and have lead to a lifelong love of live music

Probably Toy Factory somewhere in Worthing.

Adam and the Ants - Brighton Centre 1981 with my Cousin and Aunty

Stiff Little Fingers - Top Rank Suite early 1982 (I think) this time with friends

Latest concert - Duran Duran -York

I was so jealous of a couple of mates that went to see Adam and the Ants on that tour.

Surprising amount of Heavy Metal being mentioned. Must have been very popular with youngsters back in the day.

Back then I would rather stick red hot needles in my eye than listen to Heavy Metal or Rock. I still feel the same way now.

Each to their own though and all that.

Rock and Metal was absolutely huge in the 80s; I guess there’s quite a few 50 somethings on this board!

Would have been someone at the Dome in the late 60s likely John Mayalls Blues Breakers who I saw in several of their ever changing line ups.

Alice Cooper, September 30th 1991, Wembley Arena.
I was 14 and absolutely blown away by the stage show, he's a phenomenal entertainer.
