Who was Sussex's fastest EVER bowler?

Has to be Snow. When he was riled and really trying he was very, very quick.

Most certainly.
I remember Geoff Boycott stopping Snow twice during his run-up in one over at Hove - speck of dust in the eye, bird landing on the sightscreen etc.
I don't think GB saw any of the next over from Snow, including the one that removed his off stump.
Also saw Barry Richards (in his prime) open the innings for Hants and try to bat out the last 20 minutes of the day against Snow and Tony Buss. It looked like Snow was bowling fast leg cutters/away swingers which Richards seemed to be reading OK and was letting go past the off-stump. I was watching through binoculars as he shouldered arms again to the next ball which broke the middle stump. Richards looked up to see Snow glaring at him down the pitch, smiled and walked off. Marvellous stuff - JS was a moody sod though.

During his time Adrian Jones was recorded as the fastest white man playing professional cricket anywhere!.

Hmm...that sounds like urban myth to me. It's not a claim I've ever heard before and find it hard to believe. His career started when Thommo was still bowling - and for some time he was the fastest recorded bowler in history - and ended when Alan Donald was at his best.

He was quick and he was certainly erratic but I find that claim hard to swallow.

Agree on John Snow. He HATED Geoff Boycott too, and once broke his hand after Boycott refused to walk. Snow then peppered him with short pitched balls and Boycott didn't stand a chance.

Adrian Jones used to net with me in about 1979, and he was very fast, and he had no idea what he was going to do from ball to ball.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jones was faster than Donald. That's not to suggest he was anywhere near as GOOD or EFFECTIVE, just faster.

No WAY, was Ed Giddins anywhere near as quick, as LeRoux, Khan or Jones. He had a good action and his height made him effective, but he wasn't THAT quick [from what I recall anyways]

You misunderstand KSA. I'm sure Immy could go on for ages too, just really quickly.

having played a bit in the 2ndXI in years gone by I can say that at that time they reckoned one of the quickest ever was Heath Davis - Zimbabwean.

IN the early 90's he was playing some 2nd team games and a number of the pro's reckoned he was one of the quickest ever.

You may remember he played at Lords in a test and there was one problem - no radar. indeed some of his deliveries would pitch on the next strip.

Do you mean Heath Streak? Heath Davis was a kiwi who played a handful of tests for them and was indeed a very odd chap. Allegedly caught by a teammate on tour performing relations with a dog!!!

I stewarded at Sussex for four or fives years in the late 90s/early noughties. In this period, the quickest bowler I ever saw was a pre-injury Simon Jones playing for Glamorgan. He was just coming through, was early 20s, hadn't had any injuries yet, and was breathtakingly quick. Gave Michael Bevan an absolutely torrid time if I remember rightly.
