I happen to know for a fact that that Warren Aspinall had a clause in his contract saying really private things about how much munny he got in his wagers.

I was told that in1983 we were the highest paid team to ever play in a cup final due to Mike Bamber putting in a bonus if we reached Wembley It was apparently very high as nobody ever expected it.

As regards the highest paid player to play for us, it was BZ according to DK. The first div team in the late 70s early 80s was not that highly paid because I was out at a game with Ken Craggs and Gary Stevens phoned him to say that he was talking to Spurs and they had offered him £1000 per week should he accept it and Ken told him to ask for £1200 which he eventually got. A very good wage in 1983 but the figure itself is not as high as DH was offered.

Knight also said Hammond would have been the highest paid player at the club in current status, which would suggest he wasn't before hand, so my question is: Who do you think was? Forster is the first name that jumps to mind, perhaps Kuipers? Maybe Thomson?
