as 10cc say, not in hove
The point is, because of all the disruption with the planes at the moment, Wardy was delayed in getting here and wasnt sure when he would arrive.

He called Gareth today to say when he was arriving and it was then posted on here.

No one has left it to the last minuite, no one has forgotten to do it, its just the way it has worked out.

thanks for the explanation. maybe i'd worked that out for myself.......

so: the main draw is about to fly over, and there's no arrangement to get him to brighton.

what was the agreed arrangement? for somebody to work it out while he was in the air?

How can you sort his transport until you know what time he's arriving?

dont be so silly - if ANY organisation had have gone into this then somebody would have been sat at heathrow for the last week just waiting for him to arrive :jester:

Perhaps, just perhaps, transport was sorted for the original time and date he was meant to arrive, and now we know the acctuall time he is getting here that original plan doesnt work now!

nope. it's extremely easy to grasp, and very easy to arrange i'd have thought, notwithstanding a bit of flight disruption.

So what would you suggest should hav happened then?

Also...

Wasnt the big argument about REMF that it was a 'Closed Shop' and no-one was open with the details and how things got planned???

Can this not turn into another "binfest"? I have no doubt US would have had travel sorted had this fallen through/the ash business hadn't happened. It's not really worth getting in petty squabbles about.

SERIOUSLY?

Two pages in and NOBODY can take on the HONOUR of picking up Brighton's greatest ever player from Heathrow airport, some hour or so away from the city?

Come on guys, I'd bust a gut for this opportunity

I really can't believe this but here goes.

Wardy will get transport from the airport. Wardy was always going to get transport from the airport. Wardy was not going to be left at the airport to hitchhike to Brighton. It has been in doubt for the last 2 weeks when he would come over or even if he could get over. He confirmed TODAY at 9 pm to me he could fly over Wednesday to arrive here Thursday morning. I put a message on here within 5 minutes as I genuinely offered the chance up to NSC for someone to do it as I foolishly thought it would be a great offer. If it did not come off I have tranportation arranged. As it is I wish I had not bothered.

Well done everyone . No seriously well done.

Gareth, I'm available on Thursday and it would be my pleasure to pick up the great man from Heathrow.
