To remind those of you asking "Why Doncaster"?

Be good if somebody could locate that banner for the occasion.

The seaside.
Can understand Donny being the nostalgic choice, but as others have said, hardly high profile enough for the opening of a new stadium, surely?

On a similar basis to Doncaster, why not (if they are still in the Premier League and beating the likes of Juventus) Fulham? Opponents for the highest attended game in the Goldstone's (and ergo the town/city's) history, and opponents on the day of the march from Brighton station to the ground, etc.

So what? Whoever the opponants, the first game at Falmer will be a sell-out. It would be quite nice if we could forgo the usual 'glamour' option and have someone with a bit of MEANING.

Fulham? ...........................opponents on the day of the march from Brighton station to the ground, etc.

A day when their supporters acted like complete ARSEHOLES, causing a load of trouble in the North Stand.

As much as I like Fulham the club, I also seem to recall their fans in the paddock by the players' tunnel singing 'There's only one Bill Archer' at us. Never quite forgiven them for that.

The thing with getting a premier league side is we are basically licking arse and asking them to come and bum us up

f*** that. We are Brighton and shouldn't worship any fucker. For that, f*** the big boys. We are bigger than that
