anyway, for what it's worth. I feel some supporters go a bit ott with the personal abuse. Mayo has been a loyal servant and done well for the club, so what if he's not the best player in the world, he did a job and ususally well enough. Why should he take stick for being offered a new contract and accepting it?

You could start a thread on any player and within a few pages be able to pull out comments like those. They are opinions nothing more. Not sure if there is such thing as gingerphobia but IMO all THPP is doing is describing the man in colourful terms. Not sure it is a inherent dislike for all people with ginger hair.

As a fellow fan, who wouldn't want to be able to pull on the stripes and play for them ? What a great feeling that would be.
For 400 times he gave his 100% for the team under many different managers, who all rated him.
It says a lot about the posters above (and TCB is excepted in this instance) who at this small moment in time, just can't wait to slag off 'one of us' (thats one of us who we would have stood next to on the terraces of the Goldstone..)
