Think you'll find he joined Cardiff in that season.
Then a season or two later after lumping Mark Lawrenson and getting sent off, stormed straight out of the Goldstone in his kit and went home.

Actually since I was searching the above, I found out quite a lot about the guy, i am intrigued.

A book has been wirtten about him by the Oasis bass player " the greatest footballer you have never seen". There were quotes from someone in the BBC who dropped his name along with the likes of Maradona ! Clive Thomas couldnt believe he wasnt in the first division (Premiershite of the seventies).

I may even buy the book now, hey Wilts - how did he die at the age of 38 ? though i suspect it was drugs related bearing in mind one of the stories said of him, that he used to hang around Piccadilly looking for someone with drugs and then slam them against the wall claiming to be "Robin Friday from CID, i'll confiscate these, dont do it again" !!!

Indeed he was the late, great Robin Friday.

I have that book and it's an insight into another world. He preferred a spliff and a pint to football, but was gifted with natural ability and was a real crowd pleaser
