Who is the most under-rated Albion player over the past 15 years or so?

Was thinking about this earlier, and some players bring on a love-hate spat between fans. Some were loved but were rubbish.

But who do you think - possibly with a bit of historical or revisionist perspective - was a decent player but not appreciated at the time?

My start - though I thought at times he was superb, though he often seems to attract scorn - is Seb Carole.

Seb Carole was pathetic in League 1. Impossible to argue with that, he didn't score and he didn't create anything. Pathetic performances, he had absolutely no right to be anywhere near the club. And yet, he kept coming back time and time again. Truly dreadful.

Matt Richards was under-rated. Mainly because of the Walsall shambles.

He was pretty good in the Championship 05/06. Until about the February or March, he was in contention for PotS.

I remember against Coventry away that season he absolutely tore their full backs to shreds. Very good player on his day, lacked a bit in final ball delivery though IMO

Adam El-Abd.

Only been appreciated in the last couple of seasons.

I agree with that, he was very good in the Championship.

Unfortunately, he sent over his identical (but laughably rubbish) brother after that season. Christ knows which relative he sent over to play for Slade. Truly woeful player, but I'm glad you've mentioned him. Whatever happens against Reading, atleast we don't have to put up with crap like Carole anymore.

Probably just outside the 15 year mark but Wendy Wilkins was extremely under-rated
I never rated him as a player at the time but looking back he was pretty useful

For me (this may not be the most) but for me a player hugely underrated was Joel Lynch-6 foot tall left footed central defender, had fair pace and all the attributes and promise when in League 1 under Adams, made his debut at left back at our current level and played what? half a season? 2004/05/06?

We, i felt at the time should have never let him go,still we were where we were at the time and that's football-

In short

Joel Lynch
