There was 'The Great Reset' sometime around 2003.

There was and some of us lost our start dates / count ..... but seventeen years later I'm over it!

I took NSC over from Gary C sometime around 2000 from what I recall.

A few different board systems were tried before we settled on vBulletin where we've been for approaching 17 years now. This might be a good time to mention I am currently exploring migrating to different software, which could be a monstrous task. What's the worst that could happen?!?

The mailing list is still going but receives very few posts. I "look after" that also >>> http://www.seagulls.org.uk

The photos work fine for me. They're towards the end of the thread. Maybe start at the final page of the thread. That's got one for starters. Here's a screenshot of it

I was there that night with DannyCulliplookalke'sdad mentioned in Yorkie's post below. We both help to run Mid Sussex Seagulls now.

Those youngsters must be in (or approaching) their 40s now.? (I WAS in my 40s ).

Think I started posting in 2001 ish. Have had 3 separate usernames in my NSC life.

I’ve been on since 1997, when - randomly - Gary Crittenden ran it from the Isle of Man.

Used to be something like homepages.enterprises.net, if my memory serves me right.

That is correct as far as I can remember, it was a fair while back.

I used to have a dial up modem at work in the early 90s (when internet access was rare to say the least) and used to log on from time to time, mostly to read not post I might add.

Joined here in July 2003 with many others and these AFAIK are the earliest recorded membership dates.

I've been around more or less from the beginning. NSC sponsored a game at Withdrawn and gave the man of the match award to Andy Crosby. Micky Adams disagreed with us and said it should have been Kerry Mayo. Martin Perry came over and said he was pleased to see fans sponsoring the game and how the atmosphere was so different in the portacabin. Others around that day I recall were Lush (formally Croydon Seagull), Barnet Seagull, Man of Harvey's and Mr Put down, a Palace fan, but a nice bloke. Apologies to others I have missed.

Who was the poster who used to mix uPpeR aNd LoWEr case letters all the time? Was it Whitehawk someone?

Also remember a poster called Krispies was on here quite a while ago and maybe not anymore.

Must go now, I've pushed my posting rate up above 1 post every fortnight...I always thought to myself I would retire from posting at 600 but I've smashed through that barrier recently.

No one admitted to being over 80 yet, come on, don't be shy.

If it's any help my knees must be over 80 years old.

There can be no other explanation for their general shiteness.

Sadly not, Wolfie. There are a few lurkers who occasionally emerge with similar chronolgy and even fewer posts than me.

I was around from circa 1999 working the NSC Night Shift due to the time difference. Had some mini-meat-ups when visiting Brighton and the Big Smoke with some of the old lags like Hart's Shirt, Barnet, Man of Harveys, and shared a Withdean Hospitality pre-game lunch with other eminents like Lush, Mr. Putdown, Afters, MoH, Harty, Wozza, Ben C et al.

I still treasure Away visits to the humble grass hut and tiki bar from listees the likes of the inimitable Bry Nylon and Rrrussss. Happy days. And not forgetting a shout-out to HWT for rescuing me on a UK visit 15+ years ago when I succumbed to pneumonia and a heart issue resolved by his hospital. I owe a significant debt of gratitude for that as well as subsequent hospitality shared at Albion games. A good man.

unclesam:

same dates as me, met some real good friends around that date who i still see v often. happy days (oh and I still have your book!) x

I'm not! 😡

I think I joined in about 2001, when the internet was still sort of shiny and new... still feel like a bit of an interloper sometimes though, not being Brighton based, even after the best part of twenty years!
