I thought they said he was back, I assumed a slight delay or not wanting to risk him v reading. Is he definitely out for saturday, too?

He's suffered a setback - Gus doesn't know when he will be back. Unlikely to be available for the next couple of games I would have thought.

With Calderon, Painter and Vincelot all out of the defence we also face the possibility of Dunk, Greer and Tarrico being banned for Southampton if any of them pick up a booking against Coventry. And surely Tarrico wouldn't be able to play two games in three days anyway?

Bergkamp went out on loan in November, the gillingham game was early august.

I make it nine. Barnes, Vincelot and Bridcutt suspended plus Calderon, Dicker, Elphick, Painter, Vincente, Hoskins which makes team selection for Saturday easy.
Ankergren: El Abd, Greer, Dunk and Tano: Sparrow, Navarro and Harley: Buckley, CMS and Lua Lua
Subs: Noone, Paynter, Brezovan, plus 2 from the development squad - a midfielder and a defender so assume Hall and Caskey
A last man standing team really which is pity for with a full squad 3 points would be in the bank.

Sorry misunderstood you didnt realise that you were refering to him being on our bench thought that you were relating to being on a bench over Christmas.
Ah, no. He was on the bench when we played gillingham in august, but wasn't used. He is currently on loan, but I've listed him as someone we might be able to recall if necessary (I'm assuming we can, anyway).
