Ghost train arrived at Polegate , wasn’t advertised. What’s the deal getting from Piccadilly to Old Trafford anyone?

So far so good on the road......190/250 miles done in less than 3 hours. Might just make kick off at this rate.

On my waaaaaaaay! Meeting my brother at Old Trafford. It’s his first Prem game this season as he can’t make many games, so I’m sure it’ll be an emotional afternoon all round.

Wearing a coat like Dr Who to stick loads of stuff in my pockets as my bag was too big.

No doubt will lose everything later. *facepalm*

UP THE ALBIOOOOON!

Great trip up and back by road. Left Burgess Hill at 7.45 expecting a bit of a mare, but was at Stafford Services by 11 and parked up within 20 mins walk of the ground before 1pm. Wandered back after the game, left about 6pm and was back in Burgess Hill before 10.30pm, with a meal stop en route. Much better than expected.

Back in Sussex
Also had a blinding journey back on the train.

Wandered from the ground to the cricket ground tramp stop. Queued for, I'd guess 20-30 minutes for a tram which took us back into the City Centre. Straight to Piccadilly and jumped on the 18:15 to Euston which was on-time-ish. Hopped onto the tube down to Victoria and then straight onto the 20:47 back to Worthing, where we were back just after 10pm.

Manchester to Worthing in 4 hours isn't bad by any measure.

Gentle stroll back to Trafford Bar, first tram back to the airport, plenty of time to grab some food and drink, flight got back into Southampton early and home by 10pm.

Done a Frexit, now in London
Back in Brighton by 11pm. Getting out the cricket ground took a while, but once on the motorway it was an easy drive back. My first time there, wasn't that impressed. Glad to be back at the Amex on Tuesday.
