IMO a player that can score 20 plus goals for Slade will make both cvs a whole heap more attractive......that signing will be critical.

We havnt spent much moeny yet, even though they are good players which is obviously great business however i know it sounds really shallow but i want us to make one big money signing, as a 'statement of intent'

A quality striker must be on the cards.

Are we still in talks with Le Fondre or has anybody heard any news on him recently, all gone a bit quiet concerning him, hopefully in a good way

Oh well, hopefully there is some truth to it as i have been a fan of his for a while now and think he would be a quality signing, who needs owen when we could have Le Fondre :lolol:

indeed would be a quality addition - also ex-stockport !)

I love that he wears customised boots with his nickname (Alfy) on!

Wouldn't mind Will Buckley either - very promising youngster.

Unfortunately tho' no rumours of anyone heading this way and I think 'dale are buggering off for a sunshine break (sorry pre-season training) in Spain this week.

Why do people keep suggesting this as I am lead to believe that Lynch and Slade like and respect each others ability and believe that Lynch may stay with us.

Isn't he still transfer-listed at own request, we haven't heard anything to say that he isn't.

I think the expectation of signings and getting promotion this season are higher on here than at the club. I am lead to believe that some of the names mentioned on NSC are considered laughable and well outside of our budget capability. I have neither read nor heard of anything that would suggest our playing budget is any better or indeed different for the coming season than for the last.

last quote I heard was that it was the same as last season (which in fairness was pretty healthy) but obviously not in the same bracket as Leeds/Charlton/Southampton - even if they are supposedly broke -Norwich and Huddersfield. I would imagine that the likes of MKDons and Swindon also have much more than us to spend on players. If that translated into a top 10 finish at the end of the season I will be well chuffed - especially after last year!

That was whay I heard so where is all this money for signings and wages for the likes of Pericard and Le Fondre going to come from.

Le Fondre will likely be on around £800 p/w at Rochdale, so he'll be easily affordable wages wise.

Well last year we spent approx 400k on transfer fees (includes dicker loan fee)

we have released 12 players.

We spent at least 250k probably more on loan players last year.

this years budget is much the same so i would of thought someone like le fondre is very much on our radar.

add in that we bid for both simpson and robinson ( both sold for over 200k) and it would seem very reasonable to expect some big signings very soon !!!
