Who is most to blame for our Cup exit?

very good point about UEFA, the FA really should tell them to do one. however that was the same for both teams. ultimately, we should have won the first draw, so the blame has to sit mostly with Oscar for team selection and tactics, and partially Obika for being an utter waste of space.

Ulloa's miss in the first game, Dunk's mistake in the first game for their goal, Brez's mistake (for the first goal) in the second game, and Dunk hitting the post, were all a direct result of the pressure caused by the bed-wetters on NSC. The entire team. At half time I switched channels to ITV4 +1 thinking that they could not possibly play two first halves so badly, so close together. They conceded two goals in that game as well.

Leo's goal scoring recently has been great, including, of course, one in each game against 'Ull. However, I do honestly believe if he had steered that header a foot to the right, we'd have held on for the win. By Leo's standards that was a really bad miss.

Brez was due a shocker and duly delivered. The fact that no one is surprised eliminates him from contention, I think. He played exactly like most thought he would do.

So, by missing a header that most would expect him to make, I've reluctantly voted Leo.

The keeper had an 'off' day. The team played badly in the first half. A must win game we wait until the 89th min to bring on a player that wouldn't have scored if he started the game, but at least give him a chance. We should have won the first game. We could have won this game. Wrong team selection.

Sorry but I'm not so sure that it was a MUST win game. Yes of course it's nice to do well in the cup competitions, great for revenue, and it would have been good to see Gus again at the Amex if we had got through, but it was extremely unlikely that we were going to go on and win the competition. I can see why therefore, with games in the Championship coming thick and fast, why Oscar decided to rest a number of our more experienced players.

You also state that we waited until the 89th minute to bring on a player that would never have scored if he had started the match, then say that he should at least have been given a chance. You can't have it both ways!

Other, poor team selection, unmotivated players, lack of fight from players, lack of good players, having to play twice in 2 days,not killing the game off in the original tie,lack of any sort of plan other than pass sideways and back and wait for something to happen, too much reliance on Len. There are a few to be getting on with.

I agree that as average as Peter Brezovan is, he doesn't pick himself to play, tha'ts down to the manager. But l don't think you can say that iif Leo had scored, rather than missed with that header, that we would have definately won. Remember that Hull had chances in that original game too, they hit the woodwork twice before we scored our goal, and then had an effort cleared off the line as well.

At the end of the day we were narrowly beaten, after a replay, by a Premier League team. No shame in that surely?

No, can't say we definitely would have won. And not blaming anyone. Just saying, if you HAVE to pick someone, reluctantly, that missed header was the probably the key point in the first game.

No shame at all in going out by one goal in a replay to a Premier League team. But that alone does not tell the entire story. The first hour last night was terrible. I don't think anyone can say they fully expected us to win - I certainly didn't - it is just the way we went out which has made it more frustrating.

My understanding of these matters is that Bozza is to NSC what the Albion are to Rohan Ince, if you will.

He didn't create it, but acquired it at a relatively young age after it was discarded by a less visionary third party, and having invested considerable time & money, turned it into the rampaging behemoth- sprinkled with occasional bewildering moments of naivety- that it is now.

I thought Forster Caskey had a particularly poor game with his inability to keep the ball, poor decision making and his wayward distribution last night. Having said that they were all poor first half. Kaz made a big difference and it's a shame he doesn't do 90 minutes.
