Have I missed something? Arm outstretched touches the ball. BT ref says it would be where the ball touched the arm, which was outside the box, so no penalty. In which case VAR would see that and can not change the outcome as they don't get involved in free kicks.
No, you've not missed anything. It's why no penalty was given. But it was close, so the VAR had to check whether it was in or out the box.

Had to vote "No, better things to do" as I'm working nights at the moment so was asleep. If that wasn't the case I'd have been sat in front of the telebox booing constantly, doubly so anytime Cucurella touched the ball.
