Contribution to the team-wise, it's probably Lamptey at the moment although Lallana has been a growing influence in midfield. Dunk is under real pressure though as our stand-out defender though which is superb to see

White and Lamptey WILL BE our best players, but one of the many joys of not being Palace is I don't think the team currently has a best (or worst*) player.

They might not get the chance if £50m bids come our way in the next few windows.

But hey, there is so much potential talent at our club that no one really stands out. Players like Alzate (flashes of world class ability again Newcastle & Man Utd), Mac Allister, Connolly, Jenks, Khadra, Roberts, Moder & Karbownik all have the potential to be massive stars.

Barcelona are all over our youth set-up:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10912634/barcelona-transfer-brighton-carl-rushworth/amp/

And we keep getting hold of more and more top young talent:

The selling will begin soon though so people need to prepare. Only the top 10 teams in Europe will be able to shop at Brighton but it’s a safe bet to assume that our club is going to become profoundly sustainable and established in the Premier League for a very long time because for every Ben White we sell, they’ll be a Haydon Roberts to take over (and £50m+ for the kitty).

According to my Football Index account the answer is Lamptey , mind you if you look at the rest of my investments it's not much to go by .

'Best' is hard to judge, isn't it? There has been a lot of debate about where Maradona ranked among the world's best ever. But how do you weigh a forward against a defender? Is the world's best goalkeeper worth more to a team than the world's best midfield player?

Attacking players attract more attention than defenders, but the purchases of van Dijk and Alisson are widely regarded as being what finally won Liverpool the title. Everton were title runners-up in 1986, sold Gary Lineker to Barcelona, bought Dave Watson from Norwich and won the league in 1987.

I'd say our top three this season have been Lamptey, Lallana and Bissouma.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

I would have said the same at the start of the season as I think Alzate is brilliant but as he hasn't played recently and Lamptey has moved on to a completely different level now, it's got to be Lamptey. Bissouma and Alzate next though.

Wish we knew why Alzate isn't playing, it's certainly not down to ability.

Because he's not yet as good as Bissouma or Gross and Ben White offers more defensively.

He's still young and will get more chances and the current team is doing well, so no need to rush him.

Going with Dunk purely because our record without him was pants

Tough question.
Personally best player(s) bearing in mind the quality they both have and the level they have played at would be Lallana and welbeck. Not many if any other players in our side could have threaded the pass to welbeck against villa. But we are getting them in the latter years of their careers and neither are likely to be getting better.
We do have a few players though who have the potential to also be top players.
White, Lampety, Bissouma. Alzate all could be top 6 club players over the next few years.
Long term these players values are worth a lot more to the club.
Playing with the likes of Lallana will improve them no end

Personally I disagree, I think he's better than Gross and White in midfield. White does a job there but he's really not a midfielder, so much better in defence where he could be one of the best in this country - he's an outstanding young centre back and will be recognised as our best defender soon - he needs to stay there. No problem with Gross playing there as he he's done well in that deeper role and expect him to start this Saturday but if Alzate is fit, personally I'd rather he started.

Lallana.

Someone posted the other day (not sure who) he is the best player at the club since Vicente, which I agree with.

Right now, I'd say Lamptey. A 'defender' who terrifies opposition defences, wins penalties, pops up all over the pitch and has the strength to down Palace forwards with the merest brush of his little hands.

Whose worth the most is Lamptey . A good season with us and he could be a £50 million player next season .

Alzate & white are also potentially going to be worth £35m especially if Alzate actually plays !

Trossard needs to be a bit stronger I feel in tackles to really show his worth .

Lamptey who will be following in the path of Dunk, and being offered a new contract each year to ensure that his value doesn't drop

Best ?? Tough.

But Tariq Lamptey is already in 15 games or so - our most exciting player since Knockaert in his 16/17 prime.

In my honest opinion Tariq poops all over AK.

AMEX era we've been truly blessed:-

Buckley/Calde
Bruno/AK

Lamptey - This kid is doing 'it' all on his own.

Maybe due to not being there, although I'd be amazed if Lamptey is anything other than 100x better up close and personnel, but I have never been so excited by an Albion player.

T'is a nice disagreement to have.

I think we have loads of players who are best in their roles and are difficult to replace with that same level of quality.
Bissouma
Lamptey
Lallana
Dunk
White
March.
All of these are best in what they do and the position they play but as we have seen all irrelevant if we don't get the ball in the old onion bag.
So I think our best player is Welbeck.
Quality finisher, very experienced, excellent awareness and brings maupay into the game more and also makes space for the others to get in good positions.
But it's testament to what potter has done that we have so many players who are our best and also have the quality of
Trossard
Propper
Gross
Jahanbaksh
Webster
Maupay
Alzete
Veltman
Burn
Connolly
Also fantastic players at various stages of development.
But Welbeck just edges it as our BEST imo.
