Not sure many people are looking at this objectively. There is no way that a 1-1 draw – regardless of who it is against – is worse than a drubbing by seven goals without scoring. A 6-2 loss isn't much better.

I'd have rather lost to Liverpool and beaten Shef Utd . . . we'd be a point better off.

From the positions that teams are in I would regard WBA's 0-3 loss as the worst result - Allardyce's first game and they didn't get a bounce. It is very hard to see how they can climb out of the relegation zone over the next dew months. A win (or even a draw) would have given them a boost and confidence to kick-on.

what I didn't understand during the Leeds game was the attitude of the commentators. They just kept on and on about how wonderful the Leeds side was, and what a master tactician and coach Bielsa was. Even as the sixth goal went in it sounded like it was Leeds that had scored the six and were about to go well clear of the pack at the top of the table.

What am I missing about Bielsa and Leeds? Granted they have done better than a lot were expecting, but they are steadily moving down to the bottom third of the table and look like they could concede 6 goals every game.

Can someone please explain this ongoing wankfest that the media and even other managers have every time his name is mentioned. The definition of a great manager/coach is surely someone who has had repeated success at winning things at several clubs, or taking clubs through the divisions (Chris Wilder) with the same basic squad. Bielsa has been at Leeds just two years (The longest he has been anywhere) so has hardly developed a whole clubs playing staff from the academy and under age teams to the first team. Seems to me he has done OK with basically the players he had, but not really set the world of football on fire.

It's all part of the "myth" of these people. It's like Lionel Messi, I once watched him do a Cruyff turn against someone (nothing to be sniffed at but I've seen Gross do it to players multiple times) and you'd think it was the first time it had ever been done.

I find it a bit weird that, for some, suffering a 0-7 (SEVEN) record defeat at home and thus securing zero points, is somehow a better result than not losing and picking up a point towards a survival total (no matter who the opposition is).

It doesn't matter how they are gained and against whom - a point is a point and a draw can never be worse than a defeat.

EDIT: And surely everyone can realise that playing against 10 men often makes it even harder to break the oppo down - it's rarely a given that the team with 11 will go on to win

They also beat us at home last year 1-0, and we drew up at Sheffield.

So they have struggled to get momentum, so have we.

They needed the 3 pts even more than we did.
Playing the team with the 18th worst form in the league, they won't get a better chance to pick up 3 pts

I don't know about brilliant. Organised, resolute, determined....hardly brilliant. They did give us a few opportunities which we contrived to miss and we did miss two completely open goals. We will not see a poorer side all season, completely devoid of confidence and they were there for the taking. Eighteen other sides in the PL would have beaten them on the day. They were up against tweedle dee and tweedle dum. One completely lacking confidence and trying to feign injury every five minutes. The other, so out of his depth, that any neutral tuning in would guess that he was a development squad lad, thrown in in desperation and destined never to make it.
We had corner after corner but never looked like scoring. The same failed routine, time and time again. No variance. Dunk and Webster trying to hide behind each other and if they were lucky enough to connect with one of the inaccurate flag kicks, it ballooned over the bar as usual. No quality in delivery, no variance in tactics, Extremely easy to defend against. A National League team could defend our set pieces.
The media are desperate to throw crumbs of comfort to Sheff Utd. They are the whipping boys and as such, are now in the sympathy window. They weren't brilliant. Ridiculous hyperbole. We were terrible. Absolute gash of the first order. Simple as.

7-0 is obviously a worse result than a 1-1 draw but in the context of League survival 1-1 draw with fellow struggler especially one with ten men for half the game is a lot worse than losing to probable league winner.

Palace is the worst result for me but can you imagine what it would be like on NSC if we'd lost 6-2 to Palace?
